The guy is a fucking idiot. Why would anyone do that?

Maybe they are trying to excuse the loss. Bit of rehab, hero comeback. Make it look like worse than it is.

He probably didn't even pay the £10k! Someone else would have. It's a joke.

Just like you can tell JCC had his publicist write his apology, he will probably show up at a rehab center, have someone take some pics of him there, put out a press release showing the pics, but never actually stay or doing anything at the rehab center.

And Titofan, unfortunately things won't change with the WBC once that piece of shit dies, because his son will be taking over, and he's just as bad. Remember he stole Pavlik's trunks after his first fight with with Taylor.

Why does it matter? Mnay people think of pot as being on the same level as alcohol. I think the only reason it is even on the banned list, is it's thought to be politically correct. Aside from being a health risk if used during the actual fight, it pretty much has no affect unless it is abused so why not have it in the same category as alcohol?

Well yeah I mean its on the PED list so they start with a false premise seeing as pot is no performance enhancer in the least. They have it on the list and its as simple as that. Shit Haugen had his decision reversed in the first Comacho fight and lost the title. And lets not forget that pot has a long shelf life so nobody knows for certain when either man indulged. Could have been a week before the fight.

Fact of the matter is Jr got a parking ticket for the same infraction that another lost his title for.

The World Boxing has accepted the recent apology by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. as an admission of guilt and repentance for the use of marijuana prior to his fight with Sergio Martinez.

“As president of the WBC, I have got in touch with the Board of Governors, and we have decided to fine him $10,000 USD. That money will be donated to an institution for children who suffer from cancer,” said WBC President Jose Sulaiman. “We also are asking Julio to attend a rehabilitation center and want official confirmation that he’s so doing. THE WBC will open its doors once again to him, so he can continue his successful career when he feels he can return. The WBC won’t suspend Julio Cesar for an undefined time, because that is not going to help him. The suspension will last as long as the rehab center advises.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has showed his humanitarian side, by having helped his father Julio Cesar Chavez Gonzalez to enter a rehabilitation center. After his treatment we want Julio Cesar Chavez to became an example for youth.

“The WBC is no court or institution that permanently punishes its athtletes. We believe in them, and we will always be in their corner. We have always done this, like in the case of Monzon and recently with Chisora. Now we want to guide a young Mexican boxer who got lost on the way, but is an idol. And we want him to recover.

“The WBC recognizes and praises the outstanding good will and chivalry of Sergio Martinez and his agent by having taken a noble stand in this case.”
    Freakin surreal world.
Well, on a serious note, I sure hope Jr's stint in rehab helps him kick that weed habit.
Ya know, it never seems to fail with guys who wear pink underwear, they always become addicted to marijuana.

I wonder if he's embarrassed that he tarnished his dad's name, not by losing mind you although he lost deceivingly, but by calling himself a fighter and being so out of it. I'm gonna go 80's on you here folk and say he does not have the eye of the tiger.
