I think its good to see that political apathy hasn't overtaken everyone. I like it when politics fires people up, whether I agree with their politics or not. Sadly, Obama was clearly looking fairly apathetic last night, his most passionate statement was to wish his wife a happy anniversary.

Foreign policy ought to be interesting. I'm not really sure where they are going to have a clear difference.

Take Rasmussen as you will but this shows Obama leading by no more than 3 points in any of the "battleground" states

Obama is like Blair was when he came into power. Everyone had high hopes which were unrealistic to expect and he has done the best job with the ‘hand’ that he has been given.

No, the issue with Obama is that he was never vetted properly (by the media or other candidates) the first time! So he went on to make outrageous and insane promises ie "I'll cut the debt in half" & "I'll stop the seas from rising" (whatever the fuck that was supposed to mean) and nobody called him on it or asked how and worst yet, nobody followed up a year later, 2 years later, and now that he's got a guy infront of him that can debate and who has true Executive experience in the public & private sector and has a record of bipartisanship so Obama showed what he was last night...an empty vessel.

The gloves will be off in this one. The vice prez contenders don't have tobe presidential. When Ryan starts lying about stuff I'm guessing Biden will call him on it.

It would seem both candidates were bullshitting a little bit.

I would just change the word 'exist' to 'function effectively'. No, problems with that then. Look at the financial system it is a clear example of an environment where constant deregulation led to catastrophe. Not that Obama did much about it. The prick!

We don't have a free market therefore the statement is patently false.

No country has truly free markets, or at least they certainly shouldn't aspire to have them. Free market is just a term in economics books and one that doesn't really have any meaning if you are going to apply it to the real world. A true free market is an appalling concept and is good for only an elite few. Regulation is an important function.

Obama was kind of right really, all he is saying is that markets need regulation. That isn't controversial.

Well there is a typical statist opinion and Obama didn't say it, Romney did. Free market is a very real term and something we should all aspire too b/c your economic freedom is paramount to your overall freedom. The truth is the systems you prescribe too are much more inclined to crony capitalism than anything else.

Free markets can exist without regulations, just they don't work as well as they might were there to be effective regulation/oversight.
