All I am arguing though is that people should have the right to express themselves in inflammatory ways. Few people would ever bother with doing it though as friends and family keep you in check. I dislike the law being involved in such instances as I believe it is a law that can be used for all the wrong reasons. Wearing a t-shirt saying 'The Queen needs a guillotine' should never be a crime, but me smashing up someones favorite Jubilee mug definitely should be.
But with most of the thread you start on here about America and religion in general, would you not say that you come on here just for that purpose. To cause confrontation with some of the members on here.
No, not at all. I just try to present what I view as my own honest take on the world. If others disagree with me, then that is just part of the process. I have to say what I believe about whatever is concerning me at a given time. That is freedom of speech, anyone can disagree with me and that is all too often the case. The process of confrontation isn't something I enjoy though and I really don't want to upset anybody. The process is something that I have to go through though and I push myself through it. I do restrain my thread starting an awful lot too. I read a lot during the day and let most of it slide.

Really do not see the difference here Miles, between you and the guy with the T'Shit, except maybe in the timing.

People should be free to say what they want and in that way I am probably very similar to him. I support that point of view. The difference is that I would rather argue my point in a paragraph rather than on a t-shirt. You know, I support anyone arguing a point that they believe in. Well, the belief not always the post, that is a different matter. And at the same time a t-shirt will suffice for some and you just have to accept that, or in the draconian sense of the UK law, not at all.

It amazes me how a man in a t-shirt can do more time than a man that supposedly spent his entire life touching up teenagers and boy scouts.

That can't be, guns are ILLEGAL in England!

The sentence is disproportionate for the crime and silly and some human rights lawyer will enjoy representing them and winning the appeal.

As for the guy with the Tshirt, he's an attention seeking idiot but I'm not sure it warrants jail.
So the difference is - one lot informed the police of their intention to offend the public beforehand and the other didn't. Makes sense.
I don't know, i'm not a policeman. The police acted in the correct manner towards the extremist. I've no idea why they've reacted so severely towards the guy with the t-shirt. My guess would be that they've chosen to set a precedent.

I've already said i disagree with it, but i'm past caring what happens to anybody who is stupid enough to wear a t-shirt like that in the first place. Oxygen thieves.

You do realize Lyle was being fully 100% sarcastic in that reply; because of the 'anti gun lobby thread the other week' and what he had to answer for in it.

You are right, But if they operate over there like they do here..

I bet his car is never ever 100% roadworthy ever again, then the environmental protection authority will have it off the road for months each year checking the emissions and noise levels and I bet he J walks everywhere too.

In the art of war you keep the enemy close and allow him to think you are onside and learn their weakness.

Obviously not. Not having ever used or come across sarcasm before I am completely perplexed by the concept. I did not even know there was a anti gun lobby thread despite posting in it, and I also totally failed to notice the fact that nowhere in that thread did the claim that there were no deaths from guns in the UK appear. I suppose for Lyle, It's like AdamGB's prescient statistic, totally irrelevant anyway, much like Titofan liking your comment
