Give me a historical example of England being the home cooker of boxing? And if you can come up with one I will show you five more in Vegas. Country vs a city. Vegas has had many a great decisions also w/o controversy but get real. This theory that Carl could only improve in a second go with a fix is ridiculous and a scab view.

Look Andre Ward is not an old school or throwback fighter. He’s a homer. Yes he’s good technically with a very fluid style but he’s no Denny Moyer in the whomever, wherever or whenever department. Froch is and that’s what is lacking today. People at the top refusing to travel. Perhaps Ward folds like a cheap lawn chair like Bute if he fought in Nottingham. He won’t go.

Dawson-Oracle arena. Fight was originally going to be in Vegas and then was changed to Wards hometown. And the weight thing. It’s funny to me that Ward would not agree to a catch weight to challenge for Dawson’s 175 title and then said after the fight that he may not be able to stay at 168 very much longer.

Now as for Ward travelling, perhaps he should BUT not just for the sake of his critics. He is the champ and that means the challanger comes to him. You want Wlad to leave Germany and fly to the UK to fight Haye? Some champs MAY travel but thats up to them.

Anyway, in light of what happened between Dirrel and Froch in the UK, I would not go if I were Ward. Why risk a controversial decision when you dont have to??

I admit he had it good in the tourny but the fact remains that now he could unneccessarilf fly to the uk to lose a close fight.

I hear what you are saying but he could also dominate the fight on English soil. I mean that's boxing. I wish more fighters would travel. The reluctance to do so generally is another major player in the watering down of the sport.

Froch/Ward 2 is the biggest money fight in the division and I'm quite sure Ward would find a different Froch in the second go. Ward also has statistics on his side. In most rematches throughout history since records have been taken the loser of the first fight gets beat up worse in the second fight with few exceptions.

After the second Lamotta/Robinson fight there was really no reason for Lamotta to fight him again. He beat Robinson much worse then Ward beat Carl. Yet he did fight him again a mere 3 weeks later and got shit kicked.

How about the Limon/Chacon series?

Don't mean to write a book here but even going back to Langfords time and the colour divide you can see the value in rematches. Langford and Wills were the cream of the crop and both were waiting patiently for a shot at Johnson that never came. Neither could even get Dempsey because the powers at be worried about another Jeffries riot should Jack lose. While these two toiled in obscurity being the top of the food chain they fought about 20 times. Langford only beat Wills twice, both by knockout.

After all is said in done imo if these two meet again it will be at 175. Or the fight will simply time out. Froch has to fight Bute. I'll probably fly to Quebec for that one even though I don't speak a lick of French. Next he will have Stevenson to worry about should he again beat Bute. If he should lose then a trilogy is in order.
