Eventually they have to put him in with somebody good. His next fight was supposed to be against some eastern european guy who wasn't ranked by anybody and it looks like it wasn't selling tickets so it got cancelled. The trouble is the top guys at 175 are similar eastern europeans with no name value in Britain or Dawson/Pascal level who are well above Cleverly. So it's hard to find him a winnable fight that would do good business.

I think you are all underestimating Cleverly. He has a solid chin, excellent workrate, is aggressive and throws a lot of punches. I'd take him to beat Chad Dawson now fairly easily and as for Ward I think he would give him a hard night. I'm not convinced he would win but it would be a close decision in my opinion. Assuming Cleverly proves how good he is against some top 10 ranked opponents I would have no problem throwing him in with Ward in a couple of fights.

Ward would destroy Cleverly, this would be a terrible beatdown,Cleverly has been nowhere
near that class of opponent.

You're probably right about all the pluses for Cleverly, but some very knowledgeable boxing fans are telling you he's not at the same level as Ward.
I haven't seen Cleverly much--just Bellow--so I'm going with the "experts" this time.
Don't forget that Ward has made some excellent fighters look bad.

Given time Cleverly will become the best light heavyweight and he will beat Froch and even Ward in 3 years time.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
