This fight went pretty much as expected except that I really thought Wlad would finish the big Pole before the 9th round rolled around. Credit Wach's chin and heart, for going the distance and not leaving his feet, because he was repeatedly hit with some monster right hands throughout the contest.
As is usually the case, Wlad looked vulnerable at times, although he never seemed to be in any kind of trouble. That's the enigma with Wlad, as Sanders & Brewster showed, if you can test Wlad's chin and/or stamina, he can be beaten. The problem for Wlad's opponents these days is getting past his improved defense, jab, straight right hand, and it doesn't help that Wlad's conditioning also seems to be excellent.
