The latest unrest was provoked by Israel. They murdered a young boy and the Palestinians were justifiably angry. It was Israel who broke the peace deal brokered by Egypt.

It suits the popular narrative to have Israel as the hard done by nation having to put up with all these terrorist attacks, but it is an inacurate picture.

Day in day out Palestinians are losing their own land, being denied access to imports, and all the while being aggressively policed and bullied by illegal occupiers. The truth is that Israel is an apartheid state and just like in South Africa it is taking an awfully long time for the narrative to alter its position. We were all good friends with South Africa until eventually it was untenable, with Israel it is harder because of the US Jewish lobbies.
This would be embarrassing enough were it an isolated incident but repeated clunky and clumsy use of metaphors like this riddle your posts and betray your own deeply held prejudice. Yours is the popular narrative a world where the oppressors are on one side and the civilian population are pawns to be used for point scoring. Do you really think that Israeli and Palestinians want to live in a never ending war? They want to get on with their lives and the anger on both sides at military actions that prevent that is justifiable. Do you not see the irony of your own position in which you denounce a democratic western system that you have lived under your whole life whilst mysteriously making the hundreds of Iranian made rockets fired into Israel disappear? Is Israel at war with any other countries in the region? Do you not think that indicates that they want to be left in peace?
It is a valid statment and holds true. Gaza is in essence a large concentration camp. You fit large numbers of people together, deny them basic living standards and keep guard over them. The only thing missing is the gas chambers, but Israel employs different means of enforcing coercion and control over the Gazan camp. Periodic massacres typically suffice when resistance occasionally breaks out.

The solution is obvious. 1967 borders as agreed by the leaders of most of the globes population. Unfortunately for Israel they would have to take down settlements that have been built in 45% of the Palestinian land, they would also need to hand back water resources and in truth, they really don't want a fair settlement. Palestine is once again going to the UN for the granting of statehood. Just watch who veto's or abstains. The same deadly duo who are opposed to peace.
