Noone seems starstruck. Some are just saying he isn't really doing any harm by having a go at boxing. That's all. How is Brockton more 'honest'? That's shit.
Also, could you point out where all the 'hype' is? I haven't really caught any 'hype'. Nor have I heard Flintoff or anyone surrounding him claimng him to be anything that he's not.
Also, he isn't taking any attention away from anyone. The undercard fighters that you are concerned about haven't been robbed of a headliner spot by Flintoff.

Would have been a lot more respectful to the sport and it's fighters than jumping straight in to a hyped TV bout.

I don't buy that this is good press for boxing, all this bout does to the uniformed punter is take the piss out of boxing - the undue hype given belittles the time and dedication needed to become notable.

The watering down of alphabet titles has weakened down the sports credibility enough without what is essentially a celebrity boxing match being given ANY credibility or interest.
