Froch isn't beating Ward. It's not happening. Froch might have to settle for being the second best super middleweight in the world, but he needs to avenge his loss to Kessler before he even gets that title. At this point, because all signs point to Ward having a Hall of Fame career, it might not be the worse thing in the world if Froch is only the second best.

I cant agree with that. Who knows how Ward would be effected if he were to actually go to Nottingham. I realize he has math and the history of rematches on his side but its not a slam dunk. Now I'm not saying he would fold like Bute did from the hostile crowd but there is little doubt in my mind that it would have an effect. Add to that the way that Froch seems to fight at home and some adjustments they might make and it could be interesting.

Kessler makes the most sense since it was so close on the cards but I have this feeling that we have heard the last of Kessler on the elite stage. For lack of a better phrase he has lost the eye of the tiger.
I think he most likely beats Magee and then he will hide out in Denmark for the rest of his career never rematching Ward or Froch.

Where Bute is concerned I'm starting to think although I hate to say it that he is somehow going to bail on the Froch rematch even though he may be tarred and feathered by Quebec fans. Maybe he goes for it and I hope he does but he to looked like a mentally beaten man for much of that Grachev fight. Another gut feeling is that they are thinking about and all Quebec showdown with Pascal if he beats Dawson in March.

A Ward/Froch rematch is the best fight in the division because of the way Carl has stormed back. Perhaps Ward does win again but I don't figure its as finite as many believe especially if he chooses to fight in Nottingham. Nobody gave Lamotta a chance when he re-matched Robinson and yet Jake even out jabbed him. Nobody really gave a 37 year old Robinson much chance to beat Basilio in the rematch. Norris/Brown, Randall/Chavez, Nelson/Leja etc etc. I hope Froch/Ward 2 happens.

I read before that Kessler is open to a rematch with Froch any place and anytime. He said he beat him before and he will beat him again. I hope Kessler actually means what he said and would be willing to return the favour to Froch and travel for this fight. Fair is fair with Froch travelling to Denmark first time out. I think this is the fight Froch needs to set up a Ward rematch. I hope he can pull them both off.

Yeah he's said that but imo its just bravado. I think the tourney took whatever was left over post Joe out of him. His talk seems disingenuous to me and his body language when he existed the tourney did not look right. I doubt very much that he would travel to Nottingham. I just think and hope I'm wrong that he will get a trinket and then covet it never leaving Denmark.

What makes you think Bute is going to bail?

I just think styles make fights and Froch didin't do well with Ward's style in any way. Nothing is set in stone though. I'll tell you what: Froch would do a lot better than Pavlik woill against Ward in January. That much is certain

Just a gut feeling. Btw I so want to be wrong. He looked discouraged against Grachev and at times like he was somewhere else. I could be dead wrong. I'm looking forward to see what kind of comments come out of Butes camp.

Agreed and Wards style is oddball and tough to crack but at times the winning style in the first go loses to the alternate style in the second.
Rant I want Bute to exact revenge badly but I don't think he's right upstairs. The fight may go off anyway just because of the money/ego's etc but I do think a chance exists that they side step it.
The calender matches up for the rematch much better then the others. I do think a massive all Quebec fight with Pascal is inevitable.
