Tragic all round for everyone but I agree it was the fear of the sack. And I reckon she would have been sacked for sure, which again is utter bullshit. But the suits and clipboard carriers have to be seen to be doing the right thing to justify their fat salaries.
Can't put any blame on the DJs, thousands of crank calls are done every day - butterfly effect, nothing more.
Something they will have to carry for rest of life unfortunately.
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
Just goes to show you that all some people need is a little push to go over the edge. Those "DJ's" (because nobody is a DJ anymore, they are third rate standup comics and too ugly for TV) had and have 0 clue about anything this nurse was experiencing in her life up to the moment they called. They didn't think that such a stunt could get the woman fired or in trouble, they were selfish and just thought they would have a laugh at someone's expense and here we are. Mission accomplished DJ's...I'm sure everyone has had a fun time with this prank....barring the nurse who killed herself on account of it, but hey get some thicker skin in your next life right? Learn to take a joke why don't you.
Its amazing that all the focus is on the pair who recorded the prank, then passed it on, who passed it on, who then passed it on etc
This woman didnt even take the call did she?
Amazing that the focus isnt on the hostpitals data protection policy and its execution of that policy. Amazing that the press are jumping all over this when its exactly what they would have done had they thought about it.
The events may have been the straw that broke the camels back but this isnt a case of someone topping themselves because they fucked up at work.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
No doubt the press are jackals when it comes to the British Royal Family. Those DJ's are pretty damned lousy too though...credit where credit is due.
