There seems to be a bit of rewriting of history with regards to Calzaghe's fight against Lacy. A mate of mine placed a bet the day of the fight that had Lacy as slight underdog. Must admit that I was the one who said that was worth a punt (I'm starting to believe that I have the ability to influence fights by predicting a winner. If you hear me waxing lyrical about a fighter on these boards, bet on the other guy).
Even the "experts decide" section run on the BBC website had Calzaghe to win, with Bunce, Woodhall and McGuigan all tipping Joe to win on points.
Fast forward a few years and in the eyes of his fans Joe overcame the very gods of Olympus.
The british oddsmakers and experts may have had it more even, I think according to the american "experts" cal was shit n was getting spanked by lacy.

Pinckney/Jr Jones. Darryl was like 20-20-2 or something as was supposed to be a tune up. He almost took Juniors head off. Jones then went on to beat Mab twice.

Randall/Chavez. Frankie was like a 15 to 1 underdog and Sr was undefeated at least on paper in 90 contests. Randall was actually older then him.

Sanders/Wlad. Corrie was a 20 to 1 underdog and was dragged off the golf course.

Ali was an 8 to 1 underdog when he fought Liston.
