Good match-up and good test for both fighters.
Glad to see them do the right thing instead of trying to stuff a meaningless Canelo/Cotto match down our throats.

Agreed, although I doubt it's in the interest of fairness if this comes off. Cotto probably doesn't want to fight Canelo coming off his last night out, otherwise you can bet he'd be the opponent. I'd like to see Miguel drop back to 147 if he really wants to stay relevant, he could gun for a rematch against Malignaggi or something like that for an easy bounce back.
BREAKING NEWS-AUSTIN TROUT HAS BEEN ARRESTED
Boxing champ Austin Trout arrested in El Paso on suspicion of public intoxication - El Paso Times
The fight may be off due Trout's heinous criminal activity....![]()
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Hah, what an idiot. He's probably lucky the police got there when they did though. If a pro fighter assaults someone seriously they aren't getting off with a slap on the wrist, wasted or not.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Buzzed at 2 am on New Years eve and among a rowdy crowd.....the nerve.
The fact that golden boy are steering canelo away from trout is another bad move for boxing.
Who else in the 154 divison does everyone want to see canelo fight apart from trout..theres no one!
We all know it will end up being cotto as that will make the most money..or will it?
Can't see them risking Alvarez with a tricky southpaw proper 154 pounder like Trout when a gigantic Mayweather PPV payday is just round the corner. They'll go on seriously considering him and not ruling him out until they sign some welterweight to fight him. Maybe they'll take a risk that Angulo won't land a bomb on ginger's chin. Alvarez Angulo would sell out the Staples Centre as well. They could do two cards on one night and put both the big fights on one PPV.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
