Joe Louis his opponents often thought they had been shot. Devastating up close.
I would say Earnie Shaver. It's hard answer though because Roy Jones hit like a mutha too, Ray Robinson KO'd people who'd seldom ever been down with one punch. Sam Langford was a damn beast. Ugh its just too large of a list to narrow down to a single hardest puncher ever considering we still don't have a good way to measure a boxers punching power (even though actual instruments to do that exist)
So let's leave it in theorycraft and discussions![]()

Since all you fuckers already mentioned half the people here's some not yet mentioned who are often overlooked...
"Pajarito" Moreno
Fitzsimmons
Galaxy
Arguello
Foster
Cuevas
Some other guys:
Bert Cooper ... not the hardest hitter but had serious power
Prince Naseem relied solely on his power at times
Max Baer had deadly power ... literally ...
Tommy Morrison ... excellent left hook

Today I would say both Klitschkos, Matthysse, Nonito, JMM & Froch...
Golovkin hits hard, but let's see him knockout some top opponents before rating his power.

This is a nice video of some of the punches we have talked about.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

You may be right he looks more than capable of unifying and wiping out everyone around him in his division but we will see. I think the same can be said Of David Price it's a bit early to judge but his power seems freakish, and I can't see anybody out there that can live with it. And that includes Wlad and Vitali.
