    Default Mayweather Jr.- vs.?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is one of the very best, but the absolute best all-time? Let's just say he's got a lot of competition.

How does Floyd do against some of these pugs in their prime:

1.) Sugar Ray Leonard @ Welterweight

    2.) Roberto Duran @ Welterweight

3.) Tommy Hearns @ Jr. Middleweight

    cheers

He beats them all he's the best there's ever been people just hate on him cause he's a bit of a dick outside the ring and a few fights have never been made. Look at the facts no one apart from Marquez has ever had success after fighting floyd they have all never been the same after he puts a beating on them.

    1. Floyd vs SRL at welter is a tossup. Clash of master boxers with hand speed. Edge to SRL in power. Probable edge to Floyd on defense. Slight height and reach advantage for SRL, but nothing that would matter. 55/45 in favor of SRL.

    2. Floyd vs Duran at welter I'd favor Floyd. Duran's best weight was lightweight, and Duran gives away 6 inches in reach. Helluva fight, but Floyd should be able to handle Duran's straightforward pressure with his defense and shoulder rolls. 65/35 in favor of Floyd.

    3. Floyd vs Hearns at Jr Middle. Not a good matchup for Floyd. Hearns was awesome against shorter fighters, and this is a much more natural weight for Hearns. The fact that SRL was able to win that epic fight against Hearns speaks volumes for SRL, not against Hearns. 70/30 in favor of Hearns.

I pretty much agree with all this Tito, Duran would have trouble finding Floyd, it would probably end like Leonard vs. Duran II, "no mas".

You don't sound very objective, more like just a big Floyd fan, who's never seen Leonard, Duran and Hearns at their best.

Exactly what I thought reading this. I think all the legends win except the Duran fight is at lightweight. Different level of competition back then

You can count on one hand the amount of times Floyd has been hit clean in his career. That's what give him the edge vs some of the greats of all time.

Yeah but he has never fought anyone even close to those three. Who has Floyd fought that beats any one of them?

How does Floyd do against some of these pugs in their prime:

1.) Sugar Ray Leonard @ Welterweight

I was a Hearns die hard back in those days so naturally I hated Leonard. Imo there is only one man capable of beating Leonard and that's Robinson. Sure Tommy had him on the ropes but could not take it home and Leonard pulled off one of the biggest comeback victories in the history of the sport.
Floyd has never even remotely been tested in such a manner let alone from someone with the pedigree and abilities of Tommy Hearns. Castillo at 135 pales in comparison. This pairing would look a lot like Benitez/Leonard ending with Leonards offensive prowess being to much.

    2.) Roberto Duran @ Welterweight

Mayweather has the ability to win and frustrate Duran but imagine a bigger, stronger and faster version of Castillo that could also box. Its not a given that Floyd could counter his way out of that kind of pressure. It would certainly be an interesting game of cat and mouse.

3.) Tommy Hearns @ Jr. Middleweight

@147 or 154 Hearns would be all wrong for Floyd.Tommy would use distance and range and out box Floyd in a very similar way that he did Leonard and he would land the right hand and if Floyd thinks old man Mosley has a stiff right well imagine him eating a couple of Tommy's.

    cheers
Floyd has fought nobody at 147 that was even capable of being their bucket boy. They are/were simply a different breed then Floyd and on a different level that was legacy driven. They actually wanted to fight each other.

If Floyd fought Tommy he would have ended up being mistaken for the flattened out logo spread across the canvas. Minus his head.
