So you're claiming that Douglas was the first "elite fighter" he faced?? Douglas was perceived to be one of the lesser opponents he fought during his title defenses., and most of you people would just refer to him as a "bum." The first real elite fighter he fought was probably Tony Tucker and he easily beat him.
If you can't even decide if Douglas is either a bum or an "elite fighter" then you have no credibility. But then again you're trying to prove that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the best boxer of all time, which is laughable. Claiming that he's the best of all time is more far-fetched than a Hatton fan claiming that Hatton could beat Duran at 140 lbs.
Jose Luis Castillo beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. in April of 2002. The no losses on his resume is why he considers himself the greatest, so I guess you're arguing with Floyd himself here. He lost to Castillo the first time hence Floyd's claim to being the GOAT is refuted by himself.
Floyd ducked his way out over 135 lbs. And nobody cares about these subjective lists that are put out of the greatest heavyweights or anybody. You'll find more lists with Mike Tyson being a top 10 heavyweight then lists with Mayweather as the best boxer ever. Mayweathers resume over 135 is a joke ... Tyson's win over Berbick is better than anything he has over 135. Tyson cleaned out a division at the age of 22 and had he retired after Spinks many would consider him the best heavyweight ever and a lock for top 3.
Tyson's career after prison is even better than Floyd's.
LOL you still seem to be butthurt about Roy Jones Jr. being the undisputed LHW champion of the world when DM was sitting on his worthless "lineal title" fighting Roy's leftovers and then losing to them. DM was essentially stripped of his "lineal" title to RJJ who was the undisputed LHW champ of the world and was awarded his own lineal title and was P4P king. DM was a nobody who never fought RJJ and had no reason to stay ducking in Germany.
If its a weak accomplishment then why hasn't it been done in over a century? John Ruiz was able to beat Holyfield and was a champion ... Baldomir was nothing and beat Zab Judah, who always losses big fights. Ruiz only had 4 losses before the Roy fight while Baldomir had 9 ... and he was old.
And if Ruiz was just a "plodding heavyweight" then what was Margarito at welter?? He would just block punches with his face and was less talented and skilled than Ruiz ... and Floyd DUCKED him in the mid 2000's
