Martinez is not impossible to hit watch any of his fights and you will see that he can be caught. Golovkin is by no means perfect and can also be caught but his ability to close down the ring and hurt people is better than Sergios IMO. People are talking as though GGG is a hype job invented by the network. The Guy has garnered that attention by Knocking guys out left right and centre and looking classy while doing so. Being from Kazakhstan is not really going to attract a lot of hangers on and neutrals if he was not supplying the goods. The better the fighter you put him in with the more he ups his game. There is no better Middleweight at the moment than Martinez and that is why Golovkin would be in his element. There is little money in it for a guy like Sergio at the end of his career and so he will probably be avoided but Geale and Quillin should be next on GG's radar. They will look like an easy breakfast.

Fan's are overrating him because of his amatuer record not just HBO. He's not the wrecking ball he's being portrayed as, he's busting guys up not icing them, and it's against c/d level competition.

Sergio has beaten 7 middleweights in a row that are superior to anyone Golovkin has ever faced. You may be right that he'll perform better up in class, but that has to be proven.

I predict he will put Sergio on his back.

He needs some work. Way too much is being made too early and while talent-power is obvious he hasn't faced anything remotely close to the neighborhood of a Martinez. I see him a bit one deminsional thus far and the movement he faced in a punch prone Rosado (one out of panic and preservation mostly)...and the movement a Martinez brings (shifting you into your own momentum and countering) is nothing similiar. Rosado showed mass balls but he was also badly hurt in more than a few of his recent fights. Golovkin might...may...coulda...woulda all he wants but you have to deal with what is actually happening. Golovkins defense is apparently his offence largely, that head is prone to left hooks among other things. HBO is determined to put a cape and theme music to him this early but he is no Chavez sr or Tyson, he's a guy who is 30 yrs old and has yet to complete 10 rounds with a strong fan friendly attack and solid potential, but let him walk before he runs.

HBO selling him as the second coming, even though he wasn't doing anything special, definitely influences people.

I was going to mention both those guys and I personally believe Darren could beat him. I'm not saying the dude is not good but he's not the juggernaut his followers claim him to be. Perhaps it was the opponent and maybe he kind of put his training on cruise control but he showed all kinds of holes last night that could be exploited.
