Lennox Lewis Tells Paper Heavyweights Are Doping
Lion from Zion shines light on steroids in boxing
He did it his way, and it was all natural, Lennox Lewis wants people to know.
“I may be the last true heavyweight,” Lewis said in the Sunday People newspaper. “All the others are plastic because they take things to help them.”
Lewis says he never ingested iffy substances to build his body.
“All I ever took was yams, dumplings – and good old-fashioned mummy’s cooking.”
Lewis’ assertion that other hitters are dopers comes from an inside source.
“My masseuse, who works with other heavyweights, says you can tell the difference between a body that has been developed using creatine,” he said.
“I’m a true heavyweight. I didn’t have to take anything to grow into it.”
Watching Danny Williams and Matt Skelton slug it out for the British title embarrassed LL, and he said they looked like a couple of pub-sluggers.
So, we ask again for the thousandth time, will he ever glove up again, and see if he can get it up like he used to?
“I don’t really miss boxing because I quit at the top,” Lewis said.
“People talk about big-money fights but it doesn’t make sense for me to come back and fight because I’ve been there and done it.
“I beat everyone in my era. The heavyweight division is weak at the moment and that is good because it shows what an impact I had on boxing. When are we going to find the next Lennox Lewis? Who knows?
“But, as time goes on, I’m looked on as a great because you still won’t find someone like me.”
Lewis offered some advice to the upcoming batch of Brit bashers…
“If we want a British champion then many of those fighters around today need to try to learn other styles of boxing. If they think they can just come out swinging and win then they won’t be great.”
So what next for the dreadlocked former fighter, who has been improving slowly but steadily on HBO’s Boxing After Dark broadcasts?
Lewis says he wants to open a boxing academy in Jamaica to teach his methods inside and outside the ring.
“You need to look after yourself outside the ring just as much as you do in it,” he said to the paper.
“Any young fighters who make a success of their careers need to have a good grounding in the dangers they face – and the hangers-on.”
I'll tell you this jackass really knows how to endear himself to people....One of these days when he's Hunting in the woods of Canada someone is gonna shoot his stupid azz thinking he is a Yeddy with dreadlocks WHOOPS!!!!!!!!!
