I hope this is just a stepping stone type fight for Hatton, trying to re-adjust back at 140 on the way to a showndown with Castillo.

Sweet bro, I'm not saying it's a great fight I would have much rather seen him face Cotto or Castillo straight out. But at least Urango is a better option than Urkal IMOOriginally Posted by JT Rock

You sure about that?Originally Posted by galaxy76
Id put it on a par, i can see it now Hatton will try and get Witter if he wins the WBC strap against Corley, then Castillo, i think Mayweather and him are going down difgferent paths right now maybe if Hatton can become a big superstar at 140 and hold all the belts maybe we might see it maybe 2 years down the line.
But what i am seeing with Hatton, unfortunatley he has gone from a hungry young pretender who would fight anyone anywhere, to a businees man who is looking out for number one now his bank balance, but thats what happens to you when you can demand $2 million a fight against no bodies.
no matter how close it was hatton still won i think hatton edged it on knockdown and dont doubt hatton that was hes first fight at that weight id wait and see hes next fight at that weight before u start doubting him

Which is pretty much what he said that he wouldn't become.Originally Posted by skel1983

Trust me, everyone wants to get out from under & they all have good intentions...but we people throw enough cash that you can actually make a bed out of it...your'e gonna sleep in it.
I just wonder if he can command, secure, & retain that kind of money here in the states now.
We shall see.

So since beating Kostya in 05 he's heading into 07 by adding Maussa, Collazo and Urango to his record.
Piss poor.

So if hatton believes WW is to much for him, and steps back down to where he can be at is best, thats wrong? thats what most of you are saying?

Can you just point out to me where these guys are ranked in the World Ricky is fighting at the moment? the level of opposistion is the problem mate, there all sub standard world class opponents, maybe 1 out of three fights you get away with but 3/3? Collazo broguht the sothpaw problems to the table in my opinion, but he is not World Class, i would struggle to put him in the top 10 at 147, Maussa is pathetic lets be honest i thought ok let him pick up an easy belt after the biggest fight of his life, but now he is again fighting the poorest champion at 140 and 147? wtf? Why? Hatton is slowly going down the p4p rankings at this rate, have a look at people like Corrales and Castillo and check the resume out over the past years they fight the best around for hand pick the easiset option out there.Originally Posted by Preme
I love Ricky to bits but this fight is a joke i couldnt give to shits if the IBF Belt was ont he line, the guy won a gift decision and now Hatton similar to Maussa is coming to mop up the pieces. There are 5/6 guys out there who would make a great fight but it looks like Ricky and his team dont want to risk the 0 and make the $$ while they can which is not good for the sport.

How come they cant get any of these star fighters in the ring?
Is Urango worthy of another PPV?

by him tuck tail and going back down to 140 how are we supposed to judge him? He has not challenged anyone but PBF(for money) other than that what has he shown us at 147? That he can be hurt by the lightest of punchers? or that the transition is simply too much for him? Either way it can now be assumed that Hatton was and will never be in the leagues of PBF, Baldomir or even Gatti(yeah, I said it!!). at least these guys had the ability to step up and hold their own. I won't bring up past fighters like ODLH, Duran, Leonard etc.....Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING

Hatton vs. Urango is excellent Friday Night Fights material!
So is this fight 100% or is there still a chance this travesty might not happen?
This would do piss poor PPV numbers. I'd like to see Hatton get KTFO if he takes this fight! How many "tune-ups" does one fighter need.
And let me say again that Urango's win vs Rabah was a HUGE bs decision....Rabah completely dominated Urango and showed that Urango is one dimensional. Still, i think Urango has some power and he might be able to land some decent shots on Hatton b/c hattons style.
