basically what im getting at is if he aint moving up yet fight baldo , its wat we waner see!
True bro, fight Baldomir take his championship, if he can still make 140 after that fight Hatton for a double championship both championships on the line... then make his move to 154 for DLH then Mosley. Legacy secured!!!
hehe yeh man that would be sweet,
but floyd would have his work cut out for him if you were his manager :P

If he stays at welter and tries to unify, he will have options like Cotto, Baldo, Hatton, Williams...etc. If he beats all those people, then thats when i feel he should go up and go for Mosley. Floyd is still young and i feel he is doing the wrong thing if he goes up to light middle at this stage imo.
he gains nothing by beating Spinks. But the Baldomir fight will give him cred with everyone...

Exactly what Floyd should have done, I've complained about a lot of his fight choices since the Castillo fights but no complaints here, this is the fight that needed to be made.
I agree 100% this will silence all the PBF haters out there. You cannot downplay this fight.

since when has PBF cared about having cred with other people? As long as everybody around him keeps telling him how great and wonderful he is he is not going to fight anybody that can give him credit. He will fight Spinks for his title then possibly Oscar in May. He wants those 5 belts in 5 weight divisions and Spinks is his only real chance.

It just showed up on fightnews, so it must be a done deal now.

Much more meaningful fight than Spinks. Baldy gets a good payday, and will put in a great workmanlike performance. Seems to be the year of upsets so who knows?

Why? Given their styles it's an easy fight for Floyd.

Who wants to see this fight? I agree that this fight looks better FOR PBF than Spinks, only because he beat Zab & Gatti. But those are fighters that PBF beat as well. Did anyone see how slow Baldomir looked against Gatti? Mayweather needs to pick the best fighters to prove the legendary status that he claims to have. Yes, I know, he did fight alot of top contenders to be where he is at today, that I admire, but it seems like he is just setting his boxing career on cruise control with this fight. $50 for this fight? I propose a BOYCOTT! It will be aired the following Saturday on HBO either way. I think it would be a way for fight fans to pressure fighters to choose tougher opponents so REAL up and comers can have a chance to prove what they can contribute to boxing. So don't let Mayweather sell you this second hand fight at retail store price. It will not only be better for boxing but for your wallet as well.

I dont mind spending the $49.95 if I dont watch the fight I am gonna spend $90-$100 at the bar on a Saturday night anyway so a Professinal Partier like me(minus the drug use) $49.95 is saving me a few bucks and a Hangover LOL!!!!! if the undercard is SOLID its a bonus..

Well said slick22. It's pretty sad to see a fighter as talented as Floyd fight the people he has recently. I don't want to disrespect Baldomir...he is a tough guy and he did well to win agianst Gatti and Judah. But as slick said, Floyd beat those guys as well. And with all due respect to Baldomir....this will be an easy fight for Floyd (unless Carlos catches him flush a few times). Floyd is just to fast and skilled for him. But who knows....anything can happen. But Floyd needs some much bigger names to claim he is the best.

Baldomir is the Welterweight champion of the world, a champion is as big as you can get, that's enough for me!

Yeah. Baldomir doesn't hold when he gets in close and he manages space better then Ruiz.
That is true star.... but did Ruiz got a chance to Hug RJJ

every time floyd tries to make that fight happen, his camp makes another excuse.
mosely has been doing this for YEARS.
i think last time (the time before this one where mosely didnt take the fight) shanes camp said they wanted something like 12 million or some absurd number to make this fight happen
