If Carlsberg made commentators they would be Japanese
Lewis taking 8 rounds to KO the ghost of Iron Mike lol
It speaks more for how overrated Lewis is and how much heart Mike had to take that kind of beating

Tyson said after their fight, he felt he would never of beaten Lewis, I tend to agree with him.
Of course on the proviso Tyson steps in the ring with Lennox, and not Lewis' alter ego 'Lummox'...

Tyson could still have KOed Lewis at any point in that fight, ghost or not, he still had his power and therefore Lennox's methodical beat down was the right approach, rather than going Gung Ho. If he had've done that he may've won inside 2 or3, but conversely he could've bean knocked out in 2 or 3. So what would you have done?

Steward was shitting himself at Lewis's reluctance to try and finish Mike, he was worried Mike would catch that chin.
If McCall and Rahman can find that chin, the Tyson that beat Holmes would have no problem. Just look at the problems and even older Holmes after and even longer retirement gave prime Holyfield, McCall and MercerThat Tyson was special.
Also, dont bring up the fact they fought as proof otherwise, Mike always beat Holmes like was nothing, Berbick and Holmes always beat Ali and Louis never stood a chance against Marciano...

I read somewhere they sparred and Lewis got the better of Tyson around when this ^ was taken. That's why it took so long for the fight to happen because Tyson's team was ducking him.

This say's towards the end of there sparring sessions Lewis began to get the better of Tyson.
USATODAY.com - Lewis vs. Tyson: The prequel
Would have been an interesting fight to watch but they both peaked at different times so you would never have been able to see them both fight against eachother in there primes.

The ignorance here is appalling
You people are just making shit up now
Tyson NEVER said that so I doubt you ever even saw the fight.
Tyson said he needed 2 or 3 more fights in order to get ready for Lewis and that he thought he could beat him in a rematch.
Tyson didn't duck that glass jawed rasta headed clown. Tyson turned pro while Lewis was still in the amateurs and by the time Lewis started making a name for himself by beating Tysons left overs, he was in prison.
Lewis was scared sh!tless of Mike from those sessions and claimed that he didn't want to fight him because he "was an animal."
If anything Lewis DUCKED Tyson by hiding out in the amateurs for an extra 3 years and decided to fight Tyson when he was a shell.
Steward was flipping his shit over Lewis fighting cautious ... he knew that his jaw could've been dislodged from his face any moment by a single Tyson punch.

Maybe if you had been around when Mike fought you would possibly have a different perspective. It speaks volumes about your own inability to distinguish the man from the myth that you can not bring yourself to give credit to one of the few people not to krap themselves when facing him.

I don't get why Tysonbomb made this thread? Anything other than Tyson winning is shot down as completely absurd! If I didn't know any better I would think he is a Tyson fan!![]()

Prime Tyson knocks Lewis out. I'm pretty sure prime Holyfield and Bowe would have beaten him as well.
Lewis is the luckiest heavyweight in history. He has two big names on his record: Holyfield and Tyson. Holyfield was well past his best when Lewis fought him and Tyson was completely and utterly shot.
Other than that, he got flattened by two journeymen and struggled to beat Ray Mercer who had previously been beaten by an ancient Larry Holmes and Jessie Ferguson! The same Holmes and Ferguson that prime Tyson obliterated many years earlier. Frank Bruno even gave him all kinds of trouble.
Every single name on Lewis' record was pretty much shot and a former Tyson victim.
Oh, and he shut out Tua, a very limited guy who could punch. Big deal.
