Prime Tyson knocks Lewis out. I'm pretty sure prime Holyfield and Bowe would have beaten him as well.
Lewis is the luckiest heavyweight in history. He has two big names on his record: Holyfield and Tyson. Holyfield was well past his best when Lewis fought him and Tyson was completely and utterly shot.
Other than that, he got flattened by two journeymen and struggled to beat Ray Mercer who had previously been beaten by an ancient Larry Holmes and Jessie Ferguson! The same Holmes and Ferguson that prime Tyson obliterated many years earlier. Frank Bruno even gave him all kinds of trouble.
Every single name on Lewis' record was pretty much shot and a former Tyson victim.
Oh, and he shut out Tua, a very limited guy who could punch. Big deal.

6'1" Ray Mercer outjabbed him.
LOL.
Even Shannon Briggs of all people had him in trouble. Lewis then ducked his way out of the sport after getting the beating of his life from Vitali. And this was just a year after he was beating his chest after beating Tyson. What happened to being like "fine wine" and being the "best now?"![]()
Here's Larry Holmes on Lewis's jab
HOLMES: No, Lennox Lewis doesn’t have no jab! I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cut you off, but Lennox Lewis don’t have no jab. He ain’t never had a jab. He got Emanuel Steward and Emanuel Steward was trying to teach him how to jab. He don’t have no jab! Lennox Lewis don’t have no jab, he has no heart, but if he gets started on you he’s got the biggest heart in the world and he’s going to kill you. But I have seen the dog come out of Lennox Lewis a couple of times when he fought, and I don’t think he had it. And he never had the jab! So don’t even put him in there and talk about his jab because he ain’t never had a jab.
Larry Holmes: “Today if I was heavyweight champion of the world I think I’d reign for more than 7 years, I’d probably reign for 10-15 years!”

Only 20 months on from destroying Tyson, how badly shot was Iron Mike in 96/97 let alone 2002?
And if Tyson was shot in 1996, how bad is his legacy hurt? As you seem to be suggesting from post Ruddock, Tyson was 'gone'. So in a twenty year career, he was shot for thirteen of them years. That really hurts his reputation when compared to his peers. And this comes from, I am guessing, a fan of Tyson. I dread to imagine what those who do not like him, think.
Some people suggest the likes of Mason, Mavrovic, Akinwande and Grant were undefeated when they fought Lewis. I guess they were mistaken.Every single name on Lewis' record was pretty much shot and a former Tyson victim.
And that Tyson/Morrison fight must of been cracker. I really must watch, as I simple cannot remember it happening; my memory must be playing tricks on me.
