    Default Hayemaker

I watched a repeat of haye vs chisora and instantly felt like i was transported back to when heavyweights trained to make a nice weight, haye was 15 stone and was sharp and hard hitting. I understand he let everyone down in the klitscho fight but if he really wanted to could still be a massive player in the division. Haye vs any decent heavyweight please!

I'd pick Haye against any HW except Wlad Klitschko. I even think he'd beat Vitali right now (but that's due to Vitali getting old and not looking as sharp and quick as of late).

Agree he wlad is very good at what he does now and unless he gets caught with a lucky punch i cant see him getting beat from anybody.

I think he could beat any HW also.

I believe he has what it takes to stop Wlad. If he had a different tactic in that fight he could have won it.

He ironically never threw enough hayemakers.

If Haye could catch Wlad flush a few times Wlad would hit the ground. I only remember 1 half decent punch from Haye and Wlad did wobble for a sec.

Haye cares a bit too much about his current level of fame to risk it against fighters that are not Klitschkos.

He's more interested in releasing fitness DVD's and Celebrity jungle shows than fighting.

I don't blame anyone for capitalizing on their own name or celebrity to pick up some cash, especially if some of that money finds it's way to a charity.
I think Haye would have a chance against Vitali, as some of you have said already. Vitali looked like a slow, arm punching robot in his last fight. It's hard to say if he's slowing down, losing interest or has too much on his plate, but he is not the same fighter he was.
If Vitali retires, it's good for Haye. If Haye beats Vitali, everything is golden for Haye. If Vitali beats Haye, Haye should retire for good, that's what he says he wants to do.
I don't think Haye can beat Wlad.

Haha, I love this "If Haye really wanted to" caveat. He's been offered plenty of fights, and all he wants is the celebrity of being a fighter. David Haye is a pretty boy, he's not a boxer, he's not a fighter, he doesn't have the stomach for it.

I couldn't disagree with you any more.

As a CW he was focused and was the top in the world.

Then he won a HW world title.

He has lost interest, but to say he "doesn't have the stomach for it" is asinine.

I don't think it is really, but that's just me. I like Haye enough, he's very athletic and explosive but doesn't really like to fight going by his in ring demeanour and how woefully inactive he has been. A pro for 10 odd years with 20 something fights, that's not someone who is on a mission now is it. The CW division was and is a steaming pile of junk and Haye really only had a few notable fights there, still managing to get badly shaked up more than a few times against far inferior guys physically. The truth is that Wlad is the only fighter who he didn't hold immense advantages over in his career, and he ran scared. I think it's perhaps mostly his just knowing full well he can't be taking decent HW punches, so up for interpretation and all. Certainly the guy isn't fearless though.

He certainly didn't have the stomach for any kind of fight with Wlad, that's for sure. His performance was pathetic.

There is a lot of rubbish talked about the Vlad versus Haye fight, mostly from people who weren't there. I was.

The organisation at the arena was disgraceful, Haye was kept waiting, in the pissing rain, while 10 minute videos of Vlad were shown, everything possible was done to hype him out of the contest, he deserved credit for actually getting into the ring, any normal human being would have told them to poke their pathetic show, credit to David he did not want to let the travelling (as opposed to armchair) fans down.

It was a difficult fight, on a wet and miserable evening in a shit stadium in a shit part of town with no parking within a mile. Vlad made best use of his assets and won fair and square in the ring, organisation, behaviour and gamesmanship outside the ring were disgraceful, but they don't show or tell that to the armchair warriors.
