P.S Arum is probably rubbing his greedy hands together thinking about all the yen he could get from the Chinese market.![]()
Arum and the moneymen in Macau want to make boxing a big attraction in China. The Chinese are the world's biggest gamblers and the actual world's biggest gamblers, a couple of hundred guys (mostly Chinese) are currently given free private flights to Vegas and free everything when they get there to gamble half a million on every hand of cards. Big boxing fights have historically brought these guys through the doors and they've in turn been subsidising boxing for decades. Macau is China's Vegas and are now making moves to take the playas away from Vegas and boxing is the way they see to do it. So this kid is going to be incredibly carefully handled. He may not fight a live body for some time.
A decade or two from now we might be watching the big fights from Macau.![]()
I honestly have no idea. I neglected boxing in the Olympics and its two different worlds as far as the ring goes but have to say its great to have a potential-hopeful talent break out from behind the red curtain and turn pro here. They had a piece on him on FNF and it seems Atlas thought him lucky to have two fights go his way. It will be fun to watch.
