Darren Barker had a bit of Carl Froch about him in his fight last night, by that I mean that little bit of viciousness sometimes missing from fighters. They were saying his attack method was "spiteful". I enjoyed it.

It also helped to solidify in my mind that of the domestics, Lee, Murray, Macklin, etc, that Barker is just that little bit better.
Barker needs to step up. Only fights bums and takes no risks. He ain't gonna get another shot at a world title unless he ups his game. I still put Macklin ahead of him

What has Macklin done that Barker hasn't? Their opposition is on a level playing field.

Golovkin would be way to much, for our middle weights, over here if they face him I can only
see it ending in tears. Much as I support home fighters, they could stand a chance against the
    weaker Champions in the division.!

Alcine, Sturm, far better then anyone on Barkers rec. seriously look at the bums on Barkers rec, Hope, Belggecham Buyler ate the best of them. Even Varin and Asikainen are better then what Barker has faced. Barker didn't deserve his shot at Martinez and he won't get another shot if he doesn't step up

He did just as well as Macklin against Martinez. Macklin didn't beat Sturm. Alcine is old and is not a natural middleweight. Macklin's record is just as padded. They have won the same titles and passed at European level and failed at world level. There is no difference in their achievements at all. If you think Macklin is a level above him then you're being fooled by a supposed 'name' on his record.

Bottom line, they should fight, and if they do, I say Barker schools him.

Both of those fights meant nothing.

I'd have rather watched them in sparring.

Alcine had just beaten a very dangerous middleweight in Lemieux. All I know is if they fought next month Macklin would be the favourite to win with the bookies.
