Not sure Barker is in a position to turn down these paydays. The domestic clashes aren't any nearer and he's already near the tail-end of his career.

On the flip side, there is not reward without risk.
The benefits of a win would catapult him.

‘n I say …… it correctly.

So far the opinions are almost unanimous. Going to Mexico City to fight a proven weight cheater in his own backyard... with Mafia godfather Sulaiman standing and winking nearby. That's comparable to walking into a lair of wolves barehanded. Why commit career suicide this way? Bring him out in the open, and make him meet the weight without cheating. Which is like saying you can talk a wolf into fighting one on one, in neutral turf. Ain't gonna happen.

Why Mexico city? Let me guess at the last minute they will compromise and move the fight to Texas. Jr will be unable to piss in a cup because of diuretics and claim it to be dehydration and will be 200 pounds the night of the fight.

Brutally honest, Hearn states that the risk is too high for Barker-Golovkin:
A bit strange how he refers to Proksa, right?

Apparently, Junior wants a 164 pound catchweight, and that is why Macklin so far has turned it down.

You have to bear in mind that Proksa is a Pole based in England, he has no fanbase, following and would never establish one here. He's never headlined a show and got beat by Kerry Hope on his first big TV outing. That's why he was chucked in with GGG after getting "exposed"
Not to be patronising - but it's just about what you sell in this business

He should fight Proksa. If he stopped him people would see him as viable. He could fight Proksa at home for a decent payday since they have the same promotor. The Andy Lee fight is on a plate for him also. I think Barker is at a stage were if he loses again he'll pack it in as he won't have the desire to start over. Eddie Hearn would be a fucking idiot to lose a decent fighter by sending him on a suicide mission to Mexico when he can keep him winning against decent level opponents and could quite easily manufacture a World title shot against winnable opposition. Barker is a class act as a person and is pretty skilled in the ring when he turns it on, his problem is that Middleweight has a few killers in it like Golovkin, Martinez and even Quillin who I wouldn't want Barker anywhere near. I'd probably add Chavez to the list too as he is too big.
