I read somewhere that Hagler was tricked into demanding it over 12 rounds by SRL.

SRL's team said they wanted it over 15 rounds and Haglers camp to be difficalt said straight away it had to be over 12 rounds which Ray wanted in the first place.

Dont know if it is true but its a good story.
interesting story. Not sure why Hagler's team would want 12 rounds instead of 15, and that is pretty bad doop if its true.
