What is the appeal of "Prizefighter" ?

I love a good prizefighter.

A great thing that has come out of it is the local versions. We've got one in my home city with a bunch of amateur fighters, no massive prize, but 7 great tear ups.

Is it the same format as normal amateur? 3x2 mins?
