Dead at 53. He did get a couple of raw deals and he always came across as a nice guy.

Rip
If you think you can......you can, if you think you can't .......you're right!
Always came off as a soft spoken down to Earth fighter. That is a savage way to go, and I only hope he is at peace and with family in the end.
RIP to him. Shame he never seemed to get a break and truely live up to his talent.
First I've heard of this. Bit of a blast from the past. Rip.
R.I.P Carl.
I will never forget his inteview after the Tyson stoppage.
" I know its political i'm not even hurt " !!!!!!!!
Very sad RIP
Sad news,good fighter,remember him well.R.I.P.
Carl Williams wasn't making it out of the first 3 rounds with Tyson even if they let it go on.
I am sure I read a book about past Tyson opponents and he was in it where he works as a security guard near where the events of 9/11 occurred. He was talented and gave Holmes hell. Tyson got him in 93 seconds however.
RIP top fighter.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
R.I.P i enjoyed watching his fights, tall fighter with good movement and a very good left jab. His wars with Morrison, Weaver, were very memorable. As was his great effort against Larry Holmes and comeback win against James Tillis after being floored twice in 1st round.
