Hmmm, a day or so ago, I mentioned something regarding the prime roy jones avoiding many top guys and fighting 2nd tiers instead, and after his prime was gone, then suddenly roy started taking those fights, but it was too late.

Steve Collins was one of those guys the prime roy avoided just as he did:
Dariusz Michalczewski.
Joe Calzaghe.
Bernard Hopkins rematch.
James Toney rematch.
Gerald McClellan.
Julian Jackson.
Nigel Benn.

Roy was at hs best from 1994 till about 2002.
If this farce happens, roy'll be getting knocked out again. How many times will that be, does anyone even know anymore?

Jesus bradlee u have a vendeta against jones... By the way what made michalczewski the MAN who were his amazing victories against... Nicki piper? Jones stated he would not travlel openly as in the olympics he went to korea and smashed the home fighter only to get his gold medal cheated from him. What would you know of all that hard work for 4 years leading to the olympics all the sacrifices.. Im telling you as a coach and former fighter it hurts training hard and getting robbed on a shitty club show but i cant imagine the olympics! Of course u wouldnt want that to happen again. U can piss on every fighters opponents if u want but i find it a shit and sad way of thinking. He beat hopkins and then hopkins ruled the division hopkins was far from green he had 23 fights and was on a 22 winning streek 16 by ko. Thats when hopkins punch power seemed pretty dangereous. Toney was a master boxer and roy beat him fair and square. Jones became the first to knock out thulani malinga, who after this went on to beat nigel benn for the wbc title. He also beat gonzalez who beat michalclewski. I have forgot really what this thread is about.. Collins and jones. Shit match money only for both. Jones moved up from middleweight to heavy and won world titles. U cant touch that

Jones did the right thing when he went to LH- and that was fight the mandatory in the division. He had to and it was his obligation to do so!

Jones, as is a lot of other fighters, including when Michael Moorer had to step up to HW, is that he got tired of HAVING to make a weight he was not comfortable at- 175 was a comfortable weight for RJJ.

As you can see, when he fought at HW, he was just about 201 lbs- and that was at fight night.

If Collins, Dariusz, et al... wanted to make a fight with Jones between 97 and 2002 when RJJ, they should have moved up in weight to challenge him.
