Couldn't agree more really. Another thing that annoyed me with fans reaction to Donaire is people saying he was overrated and his career is based on beating up smaller guys. What a crock of shit. The guy made 112, 115, 118 & 122 and was rightly considered the #1 fighter in 3 of 4 of those divisions. He may have had a size advantage on opponents, but give the guy credit for using his size to his advantage. For me he is still one of the best in the world, he was just beaten by a guy who had his number that night.
What we discovered was that Rigondeux is a world class fighter, not that Donaire wasn't. I said it in another thread but saying Donaire was a hypejob only discredits the huge achievement Rigondeux just pulled off. If Nonito was overhyped, does that mean Guillermo is still untested? Should we still be labelling him a prospect? No, he's the man who beat the man.
