Now it is the bike and football, train 5 times per week. So you need to do the same.

I know it is a long way to go and do sit ups.

I was there February/March back now, so no gym.

    Dude, faaaaaaaaar too much volume.

1000 sit ups (I can't tell if you're joking!) will build your abs the same way that standing with your arms out and doing 1000 arm circles will build your shoulders - it won't... Sure you're getting a 'burn', but that's just lactic acid building up... It's not the same as putting the muscle fibres under enough tension/time under tension (muscles can't count weight or reps!) to stimulate muscle growth.

All such a volume when give you is a build up of lactic waste and a bad back (tight hip flexors are gonna fuck your pelvic alignment up, did you do 1000 exercises of a back exercise to balance it out? )

agreed -Hagler used to do 1000 situps and pushups per day but Hagler is Hagler.

weights ruin fighters look at Bruno, I agree. Look at Holyfield after he pumped up---he tanked real fast and started losing to everybody: Bowe, Moorer, Ruiz, Donald, Toney, etc

You're half right, training with weights in a certain way such as like a bodybuilder or a typical gym rat will ruin a fighter. Using them with correct programming and intention will do the opposite - just look at Juan Manuel Marquez for a recent example!

how can I use weights and not bulk up? I know about more reps and less weight. But how about types of exercises? I mean would there be any use for bench pressing? For boxing training. Would pushups be enough?
