I dunno, he did fine against Peterson and that was about as high a pressure as you get adding the PEDs.

Nameless nailed it. All about circumstances. Khan was given the key to the kingdom before he even entered vs Prescott rather than an obscure pro debut etc. Of course you seek redemption and to right the ship after such a disaster. Its not like Prescott faded into a black hole..he lingered in contention and remained visible. Always reminding. The questions, talk and speculation have hindered him ever since he got back to the locker room and I think have alot to do with his psyche and fighting so tightly wound. Some fighters stare ghosts in the face and course correct..others distance themselves, carry the baggage and just whistle through the graveyard the rest of the way.

It only has a meaning if the person that beat you is still good. There was no reason for hate to avenge his defeat against Thompson or khan against Prescott.

It depends when it happened. I always thought Khan should of tried to avenge his loses. But I never held it against Bernard Hopkins for not avenging his loss to Clinton Mitchell

I think that in the end, it's all about the fashion in which you did lose and how a revenge is relevant or not for the boxing community.

Lennox Lewis is the best example... right now he's considered to be at least top 10 of all time, and often shows up in top 5 ATG hw lists (including my own). He got KTFO by McCall and Rahman, went back at them and brutalized them both. When you do that, the fans can say "well the first was a fluke".
