I think Froch is being looked at with Rose tinted glasses now because of the Bute result. Also, his last fight was against a week light heavy that was drained down to supermiddle.

We are talking about Kessler, probably the strongest supermiddle out there other than Froch. Dont even mention Ward because Bika would not have had these two shamelessly holding in the last few rounds.

I think Kessler will just come in sharper. This is why he has these lads for sparring.

Being sharp only helps him if Froch fights the same fight as last time though.
Andrade and Froch are worlds apart.
I think Froch was allowed the Mack fight, he'd consistantly fought the best for years... It may have been a gimme but when you look objectively at each fighter's last 6 - it's hardly relevant.

Each fighters last 6 is also irrelevant.

Before Froch had even fought Robin Reid, his first former world champion, or world title challenger, Kessler had travelled the world and fought Dingaan Thobela, Manny Siaca, Anthony Mundine, Eric Lucas, Marcus Beyer, Librado Andrade and Joe Calzaghe. All world class at some point or other and Kessler is younger than Froch.

Kessler didnt have the super 6 back then but he was willing to travel the world and fight world class fighters, unlike Froch who was fucking around in England fighting the likes of Tony Dodson and Matthew Barney

So basically Kessler hit his peak several years before Froch did? I don't really see that as an advantage for Kessler...

A fighter who is years closer to his peak fighting consitently better opposition recently than one who seems to have peaked years earlier seems very relevant to me...

If it hadnt been for the super 6, under fat Hannesey, Froch would not have that list of opponents. Kessler is class and his team trusted him against world ranked opponents whereas Carls were nervous. Kessler is still class, he beat Froch by fighting Frochs fight comfortably last time. Even Mack made Froch look static until he fell apart from being drained and just not very good anyway

Did you actually watch the Mack fight?

Even if we take your assertion that Mack was severely weight drained as true, it wasn't remotely close... Froch had Mack hurting holding on from the first left hook that he landed, he didn't wear down a drained fighter in a grueling contest.

The 1st was cagey until Froch connected and the 2nd was at a low pace until the last 10 seconds when Froch unloaded... How draining could 2 1/2 rounds at a relatively low pace be?!

As I said, the fight was a bit of a gimme for Froch, no more than an old Brian Magee was though.

You can't use Kessler's performance against Andrade as an example of his ability and then COMPLETELY dismiss Froch's performance against Mack (a guy who is essentially on the exact same level). Got be consistent.

Kes has only fought 3 times since Froch, once against a nobody, once against an old man and most notably stopping Allan Green (which he climbed off the canvass to do).

I can only rate them off recent form and opposition, Froch's has been notably better. With that in mind, it is very plausable to say that Froxh may have progressed and Kessler may have regressed. With that in mind and given just how close the last fight was (not even factoring in the home town disadvantage and the disruption to Froch's travel and preperation) and the fact that Froch's tactics suited Kessler's style and can be changed - is it crazy to suggest that the odds might be slightly tipped in Froch's favour this time?

This may upset a few of you, but Cleverly sparred hundreds of rounds, with the Best FIGHTER we
ever had Calzaghe, far better than Froch and Joe well beat Kessler did he not.!
