Lee Purdy gets surprise last-minute welterweight boxing title shot against Devon Alexander, replacing injured stable-mate Kell Brook - Telegraph
Although I'm a Devon fan I find myself also cheering for Purdy. Bailey could not get to him but he has been fighting without legs for years. And that's Lee's only chance really. I think Devons chin may be a little suspect and his ability to cope with adversity. Purdy has some pop and needs to take this into the gutter and rough him up even at the risk of getting a point deducted. Alexander is another one of these fighters that gets rattled. Not to the extent of Khan but he can unravel. Problem is, Lee will probably have to deal with football field size ring. He has to track him down imo from the opening bell without being a complete idiot.

Pressure, body punches and give it everything he has. I would love it if he could pull this off.

I've never seen Purdy. Have the slightest idea how he fights. But, hes a massive underdog...and after all it is Devon Alexander .

The only logical conclusion I can arrive at off that is..WAR PURDY..and throw uppercuts like your life depends on it. You have all of nothing to lose.

If Alexander pulls a Jose Gonzalez and pulls out of a fight he is clearly winning, then yes, Purdy will be champion.
