The comments after the article were funny. I regard 75% of people on here as donuts and then you read stuff like that ().
Geroge Groves will spark him out at 168.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I agree Fenster!
You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
Could be a big payday, do you think Groves would fight at 165 in Mexico? Just wondering.
I think a lot of the Super Middleweights would give him kittens which is why he has avoided moving up. Actually given his weight maybe that should be down. It's a shame if Murray has to fight a cruiserweight in Mexico to make a living but he could still give him problems.
I don't think Chavez ever sees 160 again and I don't think he'll fight any of the top guys at 168 anytime soon. I'm sure Arum has plans for him but they definitely don't include guys like Ward.
Midnight bong sessions and salad bowls of Captain crunch can be hell on the waistline.
He's done at 160 I'd say. If he attempted to melt down by August he'll be even less effective vs top tier comp than he already is
I hope Chavez Jr. does not get down to 160 because Brian Vera deserves the big payday and opportunity.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Bob and one of the sanctioning bodies manufacture a vacant belt and Chavez fights somebody he can beat for it. Then he fights a few more people he can beat until somebody like Froch/Stevenson looks beatable. I can't see them ever putting Chavez in with Ward even when Ward is in his sixties.
That's what Bob would like to do with Chavez. In reality Chavez has zero discipline. He can't be bothered to go to the gym even with the biggest fight of his life coming up and also there's the cannabis thing, the drink driving and on top of that he has a serious gambling problem and has probably blown almost all the money he's made on the tables in Vegas and with bookies. So Arum's plan for Chavez probably isn't going to go smoothly.
Agree he wont fight a top super middleweight. Likely put him in with Don George, Yusaf Mack or Brian Magee. Throw DeGale in with him. Could be a fun fight
In Jr's defense the depth t 168 is probably one of the reasons he's been sacrificing to remain at 160. Well that and the 20 pound plus weight advantage at fight time. He's certainly not the only one to weight or rather wait out a division.
Groves is a nice kid but I think Jr hammers him.
Chavez's stop at 168 would be brief. He could easily move up even higher. Enough of the gaining 20-30 pounds by fight time. It's been Junior's recipe for success against lesser opposition, until he got schooled by Martinez. Let him go up and fight fighters his own size.
