I am seriously wondering whether he has got them mixed up...
Kessler don't bring him British PPV money.
    Neither does Froch.

Last time Kessler fought in the UK he had over 50 thousand people in a stadium watching him.

When Froch fought Bute in one of his biggest fights, in the uk he did it in an arena that only holds 9000. Kessler is better known in the UK than Froch is.
yeah and the majority of those 50,000 would have been Calzaghe fans especially as the fight was in Wales. Froch is the British fighter of course hes going to be better know than Kessler. Froch-Kessler 2 could have easily sold out a 50,000 seater, but Hearn chose the o2 for an electric atmosphere.
Froch will not be better known than Kessler. Kessler fought in one of the biggest fights ever in Britain and that fight got Calzaghe the sports personality of the year. I guarantee you that if you did a survey more of the British public would know who Kessler is over Froch.

As for Hearn choosing an arena that holds less than half the attendance of the Calzaghe fight, that will not be for an atmosphere! If Hearn thought he could sell another 30000 tickets he would!
I dont agree with that, I personally reckon Froch would be better known. Hes one of the best champions Britain we have had in years and Kessler is Danish, apart from the fight he had with Calzaghe I bet not many British fans know any other fights he has had.

Hearn did say that he could have easily had a bigger stadium but chose the 02 for the atmopshere, he 100% did say that as well. I agree with him on that too, big football stadiums especially if you are at the back IMO wouldnt be that good to watch a big fight, you wouldnt be able to see the action apart from on the screen. The 02 sold out how quickly?? I bet he could have easily sold another 30,000. Froch-Kessler 2 is the biggest fight that has happened in this country for many many years !

The whole reason professional boxing exists is to make money. If he could have sold another 30000 tickets for the cheapest ticket price of £40, im really sure as a business man that Hearn purposefully turned down another £1200000! Are you mental?

Hearn would say that as the reason rather then "im not sure we would sell that many tickets"

Nope I agree that the atmosphere would be better and louder in the o2 than in an open stadium, imagine if its raining and shit, which happens in england a lot. And why wouldnt have Hearn sold out a football stadium if he really wanted to? Course he would have done, this fight is bigger than Calzaghe-Kessler IMO.

Read that, thats why he didnt put it in a football stadium.

He must be making the money from PPV sales.

I dont need to read the shit that Hearn has said for naive people to believe, if could have generated another 12 million quid he would have. I cant believe you could be so fucking gullible!

How is 2 faded fighters who are 1 loss away from retirement bigger than the top 2 fighters in a division that are unified undefeated fighters facing each other and creating an undisputed champ!

I know you like Froch but those 2 things you just said are blind loyalty rather than basic common sense.

Well i dont understand why you think it wouldnt be a sell out if they did put in a football stadium, if they sold out the event in a day...Of course they could have sold out a massive football stadium if they wanted to. And I do think the reasons he explained are legit. It would be a better atmosphere in the o2 than a football stadium, and thats what this fight needs.

Unhappy Re: The rematch, Carl Froch - Mikkel Kessler 2 fight chat thread - Warriors Call !!!

You just don't seem to understand the concept of business.

I run 2 small business and if I had the option to make a further 12 million quid, rahter than restricting what I could earn in favour of a cosy "atmosphere" I know after the millions id shelled out getting to that point id be taking the bigger option and maximise my earning potential.

I wouldn't mind betting when it did sell out fast that Hearn was majorly pissed off he didn't try for the bigger stadium. This is potentially Frochs last fight and I'm sure Harn would want the best monetary option available.

I agree with the second point. The first point is slightly out with the maths. Fenster is right about Hopkins and the PPV. Hopkins is looking for the biggest possible payday and if Froch wins and puts a good show on then Hopkins can come to Britain, play the pantomime baddie and earn a big chunk of the PPV, far more money than he'd get fighting anyone else.

The cheapest tockets for this show are £40. If Hearn had the same interest as Calzaghe v Kessler, hed be able to use a bigger arena and sell another 30,000 tickets. 40 by 30,000 is 12 million.

Hopkins is looking for the easiest big name.

I agree he'd have sold a stadium out if he could have. Your maths is still a little bit wobbly. Hopkins doesn't give a shit about having either Froch or Kessler on his resume, he just wants the biggest payday.

£1.2 million not £12 million and going back to my original point with all of the bullshit involved with the outside stadium which Hearn mentioned I think Hearn probably thinks he makes enough money anyway and it would be better inside the 02 instead of an outdoor stadium.

If they'd have timed it better, they could have done Wembley and it would have sold out still.

Plus then maybe I'd have got a bastarding ticket, rather than them selling out in minutes.
