You know, Abner Mares TKO'd PDL and PDL won against Broner (in my opinion) That just shows how bizzare the 'boxing who can be who triangle' can get.

I don't know how hard Broner really hits, I know he has a very solid pop but I honestly think Lucas is a better mover than him simply because of Broner's wide stance. Broner is much faster with his hand speed but his defense leaves something to be desired. Also Lucas has been more active these last tweleve months and heck the boxing game is indeed all about practice after all.

someone asked earlier as to who could beat Lucas, I would have to same the same guy I'd believe who would win 10/10 fighting Broner, Miguel Vazquez.

Easiest hypothetical I've seen on this site.

    Matthysse KOs him.

Look how many shots Gavin Rees landed clean on Broner. Too bad he isn't a puncher.
    You say tomato,
    ‘n I say …… it correctly.

If Broner goes into "boxer" mode, IMO he can get a decision. If he goes into "shoulder roll", inside fighting mode like he did against Rees, he's going to end up taking a beating IMO. Matthysse just has too much power to do that shit/

Well I'm in the minority here. People are making far to big a deal over the little success Rees had. Not only does Lucas fight nothing like Rees but he's slow motion in comparison where speed is concerned. Sure the speed surprised Broner a bit early but he knew Gavin could not hurt him and kind of played around.

And I disagree that Broner gets beat up if he fights behind the shoulder. Lucas is slow and has very little lateral movement to work off to get Broner moving sideways in order to capitalize on getting him off balance. Paulie has a better shot at doing that. Lucas does most of his best work in a 2 foot square kill box. Broner may not have Lucas type power but he still has ko power in both hands and his combination punching is some of the best out there. I don't think Lucas has the chin he is touted to have and I think it crumbles under Broners work rate.

Broner has said he's going back to 135 and the only reason I can see him doing this is to be mentioned in the record books beside Henry Armstrong as the only two men that have done it.
There is simply way to many fights for him at 140 and he's going to end up at welter anyway.

This fight could easily get made but first we need to see Garcia in with Lucas. Broner can get his fight at 135 and then bounce up for the winner. All 3 are GBP fighters.

I picked Matthysse by KO. Broner's chin is definitely getting tested in this fight and it could be all over in a couple of rounds. I think it'd be a war as long as it lasted.

I don't think this fight gets made anytime soon.

Broner is quick and he's a good boxer, I think he likes to mix things up vs fighters he knows can't hurt him...it's no different than how Floyd does it.

Matthysse is a brute and he's strong and he has big pop, but he's been outboxed before and vs guys who aren't on Broner's level right now. Matthysse just reminds me of the hype Ricardo Mayorga got after KO-ing Vernon Forrest, he SEEMS invulnerable but the fact is he can and has been outboxed and a guy as quick and as smart as Broner can work around that.

Broner has the kind of handspeed where his punches might not have the impact power but they have the ability to catch an opponent unaware and shock their system.

outboxed by 2 guys who aren't on broner's level I think saying outboxed is a bit misleading as they are 2 disputed decision losses and not some 119-109 schoolings. also broner has yet to show that he will be on zabs or devon's level, i think he's just a HBO hypetrain that would be derailed big time if he fought lucas. Hell many will argue pdl outboxed broner, where were his slick skills in that fight....

Oh Nelly, seems like a bit of a white wash on Matthysse there. Matthysse-Mayorga...um no . He was far from outboxed cut and dry and aguablly won both Zab and Alexander..Broner is on respective levels only in that 'hype' you speak of and not close to the level they were facing or on up to that point. If anyone is being hyped and puffed up its Broner where as Matthysse has actually competed and defeated top challengers and world champions. Broner has beaten Antonio DeMarco...and a debatable win over PDL. Actually being there vs spouting off about going there..quite different.

Or the hype Miranda was receiving at his peak.

But, Matthysse is a clever boxer in addition to being a murderous puncher, he cuts the ring down well, is patient, stalks his prey and then BAM!

Also, he has been tested at the world level over n over again and proven himself equal to or greater than the lot of them.

Judah nicked him years ago because Matthysse got started late and Judah was better than he is now.

Good boxers don't come much better than Devon Alexander and Matthysse figured him out and pounded the shit outta him.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
