Garcia vs Mathysse

I can see either guy winning but voted for garcia because he seems to be able to do abit more than just punch . Having said that i also picked peterson to beat mathysse & wasnt exactly spot on with that 1.

I was impressed with lucas last night and id give him the edge over garcia in punch power but i think danny would use his jab vs lucas and box him off the backfoot. Judah is a common opponent who beat lucas but didnt really come close to beating Dannny so in this fight id pick the apparent underdog Garcia to stay unbeaten and retain his title on points

Some sound logic here but Matthysse fought a lot younger Judah. Also if Judah caused Garcia trouble in the last few rounds think what Matthysses punches would do

Thats true, danny did seem abit affected late in that fight and mathysse will bring the pressure alot sooner than judah did. The other advantage lucas has is that garcia loops his shots, dont think ive ever seen throw a perfectly straight shot and as someone said on this thread already, you don't hook with a hooker.

I can make cases for lucas to win but the reason im sticking with garcia is because he always finds a way to win. Lucas hasnt. As an amateur garcia didnt always look good but he got the results so im confident in his ability to take his game to another level when its needed and it will be needed vs lucas.

I dont think garcia will duck this fight. He is not that type of fighter. He took the khan fight when people thought it was too soon and he is naturally confident. He might regret the decision but i think he will agree to fight. He will probably have to get off the floor to win Imo.

Danny also says he doesnt watch tapes of opponents but in this case i think it would be useful for him to study mathysse and his habbits because there are opportunities to land a big counter and lucas has never met a puncher like danny so we dont know how he would react. This poll is proof that nobody has really considered the possibility of Danny landing something big but if he does it changes the dynamics of the fight

I really want to see this fight. I think both guys get hit early and often although Matthysse doesn't seem to need "often". The first knockdown on Saturday night was the one that would put the fear of god into me if I was in line to fight Matthysse. A glancing blow while Peterson was already backing up and he really never recovered from it. Matthysse by KO for me.
