True, they can strike most anywhere... but it's a generally accepted fact that if you live in states like Oklahoma or Kansas, chances are you're going to be affected by a major tornado at least once, maybe several times in your lifetime.

Er.. no, Lyle. Tornadoes do not occur in an actual "alley". It's a colloquialism used to describe where tornadoes are more frequent. Your map still shows where the most severe tornadoes occur. Severity and frequency are two different terms, which I'm sure you're aware of.
