Ah, the classic has-been vs the never-was. I'd take the has-been if he wasn't geriatric. Soto by stoppage.
Humberto Soto is far from a never-was. He was a champion for God sakes. He just never reached superstar or legend status as Erik has.
He was an extremely protected paper champion who lost every time he was really tested. Never-was probably isn't fair, but I just don't think very highly of Soto.

He schooled Rocky Juarez if I remember correctly and beat Humberto Toledo who was pretty good before he began biting people.
Fair enough, to me Panchito Bojado or Augie Sanchez are never-was type fighters. They had promise n talent, but blew it.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Yeah, that's fair too. Never-was it too harsh for Soto. I'll just stick with calling him an overprotected paper champion with no chin .

Seriously? No chin? He's been stopped twice in over 70 fights. One was due to a cut. The other one was to the much bigger Lucas Matthysse, who pretty much has been knocking everybody out.

Yeah, saying he has no chin is probably a bit unfair too, but I seem to remember Soto getting rocked pretty much every time I've seen him fight (which obviously isn't that often )
