I wish I could dance.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine...
If you think the Safety Dance is catchy and might enjoy seeing it synchronized to 77 different movie dance scenes....than this is the video for you! : movies
That's actually really depressing. The fact that someone can edit existing footage and music rather than produce something original and get 118,831 hits in less than a day is pretty soul crushing. I write, produce, shoot and edit original material and it doesn't even get 50 views after 10 months of being online. Not just myself either, a lot of friends that are musicians have the same trouble. It is so easy to get lost in the sheer volume of material out there.
well, it should be a learning lesson then? but I suppose what the intent is of your endeavors. I know that most artists want to share their work for various reasons, and often feel they have a message to share. some insight or life learning lesson. or just their pure talent. so I understand it.
So, consider what works from the marketable end on the internet if you really want to get it out there. and might have to make concessions with artistic integrity? just imo.
i dunno, just random thoughts.
It doesn't really work like that, but thanks anyway. You write what you are inspired to write. If you try and write for a market you just come across as fake and can never sustain the effort needed to finish anything properly. It's not even about wanting to remain somehow authentic, you write, paint, play, compose, sing etc what is in your heart and if people make a connection then that is great. If you want to write for other people then that can be different and also If you write music to picture, which I have done, then things are a little different because you are not responding to something internal but rather what an external narrative like a short film triggers inside of you. Most of the work I do now is with friends who are not making music to earn a living but rather as an outlet for a creative instinct that does not fade with age. It is just a little disheartening that originality has become so undervalued with the rise of mass produced music, talent show winners and 2nd rate knock offs of old genres or covers of songs that bring nothing new to the table in their interpretation.
I'm not disagreeing with ya beanz, just so as you know. I suppose the rub is in knowing what the people want, and or willing to produce it. I think it is rare for people with talent to be noticed for it.
holy crap. over 300 000 in just a bit over 24 hrs.
created a moonster. those meddling kids.
