You can't beat a live fight. I make a point of trying to go to at least 1 a year now. Cheap seats are generally fine. I've only had one bad experience and that is at the O2 Arena for Haye-Maccarinelli and to be honest, they weren't that cheap. In the US cheap seats seem pretty good anywhere. I went to MSG in moderate seats and had a great view.

In short, go for it. That should be a great card and I'm jealous I can't be the one to see Macklin knocked out.

Seeing a fight live is more fun than seeing a fight by broadcast because you are situated with a bunch of hungry boxing fans.

I remember watching Jermain Taylor versus Carl Froch and talking so much trash to this crew of guys, who had made the trek from Notthingham and were supporting Carl Froch, and then, that famous twelfth round happened, and they turned the tables. It was all in good humor. Anyway, you won't get that experience sitting in your living room watching a fight.

At the same time, in my opinion, there's a reason that some seats cost more than other seats. I have had a lot more fun in really good seats. The action is up close and personal. The members of the boxing media that you recognize are all situated nearby. For me, if I can afford it, I go with high end seats. The best move though often is is to buy seats in the front row of the second-highest priced section, which you can only get the day they are released, because they are basically the same as seats in the highest priced section.

    Have a blast.

Hey thanks for all the feed back. I have actually only watched Macklin fight once and it didn't look too pretty. Could you guys recommend a couple of his fights I can watch on YouTube which may educate me better before I see him. Being that I am Irish (heritage) I always root for the guy with the Irish last name, even if it is to my own financial demise.

Never been ringside at a fight, but I don't think I'd like it at all. The angle is all wrong. You're below the action, and most likely will miss most of the action on the other side of the ring. I agree that seat capacity is the biggest factor. I've seen fights in 10-12 thousand seat colisseums, and there's not a bad seat in the house, no matter how cheap the seats are. I've also been in an 18 thousand seat colisseum and felt the upper seats were a bit too far off. I still enjoyed the hell out of the experience, though. By far the worst venues for watching fights are those with a lot of flat seating area. You can be many rows back, and still be below the ring, an angle I positively don't like. These are venues not specifically designed for boxing, but used anyway.

Either way... nothing beats watching fights live, especially with a group of friends. Also, you'd be surprised at the number of hot women that like to attend live boxing matches.

The old Olympic Auditorium in LA was a great place to see the fights. Even the seats up in the rafters had a great view because of the way the place was laid out; it was designed for boxing and wrestling shows.
Sitting ringside was an adventure because the fans up top had a tendency to throw things. If they were mad, they'd throw cups of beer- urine for really bad decisions. For good fights they'd throw change, and that hurts. I read once that Jimmy Lennon SR's bald head was covered with scars from catching quarters. And then there were the constant M-80s. There would always be a few good brawls in the crowd.
The last time I went was in the 1980s. The card featured Marcos Villasana, Azabache Martinez, and Roger Mayweather, in separate bouts. I sat in the 8th or the 10th row, drank about 8 or 10 beers and had a blast. Until Mayweather beat whichever Bejienes brother he was fighting, then I cried, too. This is when Mayweather was calling himself "The Mexican Assassain."

Macklin against Jamie Moore and Martinez are possibly the two most worth watching.

Pretty much the only 2. I'd say the Moore fight serves as a long preview of what Golovkin will do.

Well, some changes regarding this fight for me. I had two other buddies planning to go with but they had legitimate issues that prevents them attending. Oh well. I have a family member who might go but they will be in Europe and may not be back in time. I will not me me I will go see it myself if that is what it comes to.
