My answer is yes, BUT my question is, can this fight still be made or will Uncle Bob jus f**k it up?

Surprisingly yes. After Alvarez there really are not alot of big name options left that could do real ppv numbers. According to Forbes the Guerrero fight was a 12 million dollar bust. And I just can't see them putting on more losing shows like that especially with 5 more to go. But Pac vs Floyd won't happen as long as Arum is at the helm.

After all of the pissing contests between them late on I wasn't losing sleep over it not happening in the first place. But fact is they are still huge players and it technically can be made. Manny has to really do something massive first. Beating up a half retarded catchers mitt in Brandon Rios is a good step. But there will always be an asterisk next to it as not happening at 'best' etc.

No. It's simply no longer relevant. Should Canelo beat Floyd then maybe a new chapter may be written however I kind of think Rios beats Manny only because Manny could be out of candle. Its amazing to me how long he has been able to carry on with his kind of style. Not sure he has that fire anymore. I'm still puzzled as to why he never rematched Bradley.

    Here is an interesting tidbit.

Dam 40%. Yet he can go to a Communist county and hardly pay any. Factor in Arums pimp charges and Roaches million dollar per fight salary, the rest of his corner and the 100 or so clingons and I'm surprised he's got cab fare.

The fight was going to be the biggest fight in PPV history now most of us would turn it off it was on ESPN FNF's.

Nice find, that's kind of lame if true. I think for Rios to win that fight, Manny would have to be so utterly finished that he's not worth watching anymore. If Pacman can still bring so much as 75% of his offense to the ring, I don't see how Rios is seeing the final bell.

If Manny really beats the crap out of Rios and Floyd is in a hard, exciting fight with Canelo, I could see a lot of luster being restored to the bout. Both uys are at the tail ends of their career and don't have many other huge paydays available, you'd think it would be a lot easier to make now.

I think Rios is in all kinds of trouble and I can't say I am losing any sleep over it. Manny did not look shot before being sparked by Marquez. It was a peach of a shot and he met it coming forward. In the Bradley fight he was hardly beaten to a pulp in in my and many others eyes could and should have had his hand raised. He should have put his foot down and finished the job beyond any reasonable doubt but his head did not seem to be at the office.

Rios Is no JMM. He is like a heavybag on legs, and Manny hits harder, more accurately and more often than Alvarado. If he can't finish Rios before the 12th round, or at least by a huge points margin he really is finished, but I can see him demolishing Rios early. If he hits him with even one of the quality shots he tagged Juan with then Rios wont even be able to do his Freddy Roach impression before licking the canvas .

It isn't worth talking about this anymore. Discussing the possibility is just depressing, because we all know that Bob Arum will never let it happen. Everyone involved was sat on a goldmine, but they all allowed ego to get in the way.

Indeed. It could very well look like the Margarito fight.

The problem I see with the matchup is that no matter the outcome, there will be a barrage of "what if's" that come afterwards, in regards to what would have happened if the fight had been 3/4 years ago (or whatever would have been the perfect time).

It would be hugely popular, regardless. But as others said, everyone wants to see Manny's next fight.
