I think Broner stops him late. Paulie looked old and slow last time out. The Golden Boy people know Paulie and what he as left better than anyone and have offered him more money than he could get anywhere else so that Broner is the guy to get his belt. This is going to be a showcase for Broner.

I'll agree Broner is getting a little overhyped and hasn't fought anyone Paulie probably wouldn't have beaten, but you've also got to consider that it works the other way just as easily. Malignaggi has never won any of his big fights or beaten anyone Broner wouldn't have smoked as well. Watch Malignaggis last fight, he looked like absolute shit and clearly lost imo, against a guy who is obviously not on Broners level regardless of what you think about him. He was rocked and dropped hard by a really crude light hitter who pretty well entered the ring with a cut worthy of stopping the fight. This fight was handpicked as the path of least resistance to get Broner a strap at 147, it quite simply wouldn't have been made if people in the know thought Paulie had any kind of chance.

I think that's really the bottom line, there was no sensible reason for Broner not to stick around 140 unless he is pretty well content to be spoonfed for a while. It's all dandy to rag on Broner for being groomed like he has, but this fight is merely continuing the trend. There are at least 4 or 5 guys at 140 who would beat the crap out of Malignaggi and obviously Mattyhse or Garcia would be huge threats to Broner as well, but those fights don't seem likely to happen do they. Who is Adrian planning to fight at 147 anyways, aside from Mayweather it's more or less a wasteland presently.

The better fighters, Floyd aside, aren't at 147 right now Master. I think that's exactly why Broner is taking this fight, to a lot of people it makes him look like some kind of monster who can win titles at 3 weights before his balls have dropped. In reality, it's just a bullshit way to get around actually fighting some of the danger men at 140 imo.

He's got a unique style behind that shoulder that's as different to Floyds as Floyds is to Wards but its just as effective and he's still a work in progress. Yup, his Mr. dress up personality is hard to take.Those that are clamoring for the next super star or Floyd replacement are part of the problem. Its why only certain weight classes and certain teams get all the play. How come Roman Gonzalez does not get any prime time? One would think that in this connected world we would be watching 20 real stars instead of having the air let out of an entire sport because two premadonnas could not get it together for a hundred million. The mentality of Manifest Destiny and smoke and mirrors goes hand in hand, save for the ooopsy near genocide, nothing to do with his talent but the force feeding and tunnel vision the networks take with too few..as I called Broner..."a developing talent" In this case however he is lumped into the mentions of greats with little scrutiny...less on proof and mostly on promise. It pays to be connected for sure and he's doing what we all would but people need to have perspective is all.

I really do think his use of a shoulder roll is different from either Mayweather or Ward if only for the fact that hes showing it agaist the OP's basic question..."who has he fought"? Mayweather was leaps and bounds ahead of him at same respected stage of career so until he can do the same with much better opponents there is no way we can really say Its just as effective..can we?
