Its obvious to everyone that khan is a better boxer than his opposition but styles makes fights and after khans last performance i dont think virgil would be comfortable in putting him in with garcia.

Why not move up to welter and get as close to you can the biggest payday in his career as its obvious he is not the best at 140 and never will be.

All im saying is garcia deserves some credit for what he has achieved and both him and his father are good for boxing.

The fact is Khan is what Garcia has achieved. What has he done since? fought a shot Morales and struggled with Judah. Has he fought Maidana? Did he finish Judah in 5 rounds ? Has he fought Lamont Peterson ? Garcia has to earn credit. You keep bringing up Khan as though Khan is avoiding Garcia. Khan would jump straight in with Matthysse. Garcia wouldn't even rematch Khan let alone fight Lucas.

Lets see if khan will jump straight in with matthysse. Khans prime has passed. Lets Get over it.
Golden boy have other plans for khan and it wont involve any 140< fights especially after the last encounter.

I think I enjoy Khan's fights more since his loss to Peterson. I can root for him, he makes exciting fights.

I can't buy into Garcia. He's a limited fighter that happens to slug well so far with guys that have no business slugging with him (Morales--age/weight/wear; Khan--Chin; Judah--Chin). Judah had him on the run at the end, khan was out boxing him early. If he was cutting off the ring the whole fight and obliterated these guys with combos, i'd buy into it more. I'm not saying he's landing these punches by coincidence. He knows he's gotta mix it up if he wants his power (often his only advantage besides youth) to be a factor in the fight, so he does... I asked myself how I see Garcia Fairing against Peterson the night Matthysse beat him and I can see peterson giving garcia all he can handle (at least early on). I didn't even think Lucas would have an easy night; a points win probably. Then to find out his house was robbed, he finally got on a plane and probably walked into to the fight with the tail end of jet lag and blasted peterson out that quickly ... was pretty impressive.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

that's why Khan chose Julio Diaz of all the talent at 140 as his comeback opponent right? and that's why he's jumping up to 147 now, as for rematches, we're still waiting for rematches against Prescott and Maidana, so lets not try to play the Amir takes on all comers card

Garcia's upside is the best one in American boxing at this time, and better than anyone between 130 and 160lbs- better than Golovkin.

Reason why? I don't see anyone giving Garcia any REAL trouble until he faces Canelo or Floyd. But Golovkin has a heap of talent to run through- Dirrell, Ward, Andrade, Hopkins, Stevenson, Bute, Froch, Abhraham, Sturm, etc, etc....

I do admit- Golovkin's dance card certainly has the potential to be better than Garcia's.

Golovkin easily runs through Abraham, Sturm, and pretty much anyone at 160 (Martinez is already on the slide and is constantly getting injured), and doubt he's gonna make the jump to 168 any time soon much less to 175

    Exactly.

    One rule for khan.
    Another for garcia.

Khan can fight garcia another ten times but it wont save him as garcia will simply beat him up.

this thread is getting a bit hairy

i think garcia looks very good, very tough and strong and hits hard enough

might sound daft but he is better than he looks (i think )

    whos he fighting next?

The thing with khan is that when someone hurts him and knocks him out it takes something away from him permanently.

Khan is just not tough enough to beat garcia. You can pull out all garcias old opponents and how he struggled with guy and etc but the bottom line is he had and will always have khans number.
    Its the same with prescott.

Khan just fought a guy 8 years past his prime and was knockdown twice and never really hurt his opponent. Khan is a nice guy with great boxing skills but the blueprint is there for all to see..rough him up in the second half of the fight and his punch resistance will drown.

Danny garcia next fight needs to be mattysshe or karim mayfield.

There is no other options and september will prove whether garcia is the top dog of the divison or not.
