The myth about Lennox's chin is just that, a myth. The punches that stopped him would have stopped anyone today or yesterday. And another thing, there is no freakin way that Lewis would have been able to take those bombs from Vitali if he had a soft chin.

Well master Holyfeild was pretty much on the slide as well with health problems and as far as Douglas goes well Tyson was not even in prison yet. Lewis was a great fighter has a better resume and had a longer title run and avenge his loses not to mention went out on a big win at the age of 38 as well.

Lewis never hit the heights Tyson did, Mike was a global phenomena who transcended the sport because he was that good. Lewis or Holyfield never achieved that level of quality and at Tyson’s best he beats both.

We can speculate about Holyfield’s heart problems and miraculous cure.

I agree that Lewis had something that kept him from being aT THE TOP OF THE WORLD--and it wasnt because he was British. During the Brewster-Wlad fight, Rpy JOnes, Emmanuel Steward, Larry Merchant ALL were like "WOW, Wlad has even a wimpier chin than Lennox Lewis!" I mean there HAS to be something to it. I always thought his chin was suspect amd that was BEFORE the 2 stone cold KOs. Dont gimme this crapola about how he took Vitalis punches so well blah blah---Vitali is a fucking arm puncher especially in that fight against Lewis, all arm punches. Still they rocked Lewis on several occasions.

What a load of Krap. The amount of convoluted effort you have gone to to discredit Lewis just reveals that again you are on a crusade. Now all of a sudden Vitali is shit. Lewis losses actually enhance his reputation, the way he avenged them proves he had a lot more belief and strength of character than many of his contemporaries.

True it wasnt a 'weak chin' or glass jaw situation with him.

Like they say; the ones you see coming and expect can be sustained.

But to be sparked cold off one hit says something a bit different than being clubbed into submission and finally tk'd or ko'd.

Lewis was usually a very guarded and measuring kind of fighter I think that served him perfectly.

Lewis had the resume and the best division to be since the 70's it was a strong division. I mean Tyson was a great fighter but besides Holmes his resume is not that great its good but not the top. I mean Lewis came out shape and took opponents lightly but he did go out and avenge them which was what a great does do. Tyson never avenged the lose that should never happened he never actually avenge a loss at all. To me Lewis is up there had a long reign and also avenged all his loses with a better resume as well.

Tyson tried to get a rematch against Douglas but he lost to Holyfield and retired.

Yeah Douglas had everything going for him that night, even lady luck with a rest between rounds to save him. Still he got straight back out there and gave what he was given in spades after coping it in clubs , so you have to give him credit .

    no comment haha

let's see it again it is a KEY MOMENT in Boxing History because if Tyson had won by 8th round KO, the course of the division would have been different--we can assume his depression at losing caused him to misbehave which caused his incarceration.
