I wouldn't write Spain off yet. In 2010 they looked like shit in losing to Switzerland and scraping by Paraguay but they went on the win the thing. I think they've slipped a little - Xavi is getting on, no Puyol has exposed Pique massively, plus there was no Alonso or Fabregas there - but they're still a cracking team. A bit more beatable now, but they were clearly knackered last night.

Brazil played very well but I still don't think they'll win the World Cup. They won the Confederations Cup in 2005 and 2009 and did nowt the following year. It should be a good tournament though, there's a few good upcoming teams that could go quite far depending on the draw like Belgium and Colombia. Brazil will cave under the pressure of winning it at home and go out before the final, leaving Messi to lift the trophy in the Maracana.

The one thing Messi is missing in his trophy cabinet is that world cup.

Brazil were without Kaka, Ronaldinio, Robhinio, Lucas.

Think it will be a Brazil v England final.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

That might have been a problem for them 5 years ago. Now, not so much

With England it completely depends on the draw. Barring a disaster we should get out of the group and with a good draw we could make the semi finals. A bad draw or a slip up in the group like last time and we'll be out at the last 16 again if that. That was the frustration last time, the US won our group and played Ghana in the last 16, who then played Uruguay in the quarters. 2 good teams, but I'd have fancied our chances against them (well, maybe not given how badly we played). As it was the 2 draws in the group left us in 2nd and playing the Germans in the last 16. We had no chance against them.
