I would still like to see him make a comeback but it is seeming less and less likely. It would have been nice to see Lopez fight Canelo had he beat Lopez
Nope you must punish a dirty fighter, I wish someone would punish Bradley for his headbutts. It was why a good thing.

Ortiz has now fought 2 times since 2011. Wow , a real barn burner schedule.

For the record I think Ortiz faked the knockdown looking for a disqualification.

    I agree.

Body lanuage tells you he had enough and rather than get beaten up every round he took the easy most controverse route and quit.

Ortiz is a prizefighter who fights for prize money and for his own interest. He's not a soildier nor a policeman who is obligated to put their lives on the line in order to protect.

You look at ORtiz' resume and dude doesn't duck anybody. ORtiz is a down ass individual.

Looking back he has fought hard and gritty. But I think when pushed to a limit (and I realize we can say that about any fighter) he seems he will fold. Here is what he said after taking a FAIR amount of punishment against Maidana:

I'm young and I don't feel I DESERVE to take so much punishment.

wtf We never heard Joe Frazier or Evander Holyfield or Roberto Duran or Carlos Monzon say such stuff. He has the right to his opinion, but it doesnt really sound like a truly dedicated passionate fighter. Maidana hit him a few good rights and uppercuts, big shit. Norton/Holmes/Pryor/Leonard/Duran/Gatti/YOU NAME THE FIGHTER HERE-- took that amount of shots in the 1st round of their 1st pro fight.

It was a rather odd comment, at age 23, to make really. And seeing he only fought 2 times since the Mayweather fight, he doesnt look very into the sport of boxing. IMO

Very well said, Ortiz has only had one fight since Floyd.

Im a mild supporter of Victor Ortiz the fighter and it's not fair to knock on the Lopez fight. I actually think he showed heart in that fight.

Him retiring from a broken jaw does not qualify as a quit job and anybody who has had their jaw broken would understand this.

Ya expect a fighter to continue fighting with a broken fuckin jaw SMH ya serious? Boxers need to watch out for their own well being and future because nobody else will.

Why should Ortiz put his life on the line? Im not doctor but I do know that it's extremely dangerous to continue fighting with a broken jaw.

Fuck the fans and the couch potatoes whose never boxed in their motherfuckin lives talking all that bullshit..

He gets knocked for it because people view it as a pattern, if had hadn't given up against Maidana no one would knock him. Millions of people have dangerous jobs, you are being way to easy on him.

Though millions of people have dangerous jobs, I don't think anyone would call them quitters or bitches if they decided to quit their job.

If a soldier, fireman, policeman turned and ran I'm pretty sure they would be a object of scorn.
