Ward is an odd place right now in his career. He is having legal difficulties with his promoter and he hasn't fought in a while. At 168, there really isn't a great incentive for Froch or Kessler, the two other cash cows in the division, to face him because they can make the same amount of money facing each other. 7 pounds above him he has some good challenges in Stevenson, Kovalev, Cleverly, Cloud, and Hopkins. It might make sense for him to move up to 175.

On the other hand, GGG still has work to do at 160. If it is true that he comes in to camp at 167, he can still make the division weight limit easy enough, and there is no reason why he should jump up in weight, unless the money is too good to pass up. I would prefer to see him clean out the division. It would appear that HBO is setting up the winner of Geale/Barker to face GGG in the winter. That should be a great fight. There is also Murray.

I don't think we'll see GGG and Ward anytime soon is my point.

Why does Ward always demand home advantage? Golovkin has had only ONE of his past TEN fights in his home country.

Why does Ward need to use illegal tactics like headbutts, holding his opponents' arms and hitting off the break? Gennady doesn't need to.

Ill just admit I was wrong and move on. You cant be right everytime. Overmatched? Like Quillin v Ndam or Chavez v Lee? Macklin v GGG was a mismatch but man GGG looked good in that fight. Quillin and Chavez didnt. It gets to a point when you ask what isnt over matched for GGG? What would GGG have to do for you to give him credit and say he looks like he could be an all time great?
Point blank you can't count amateurs toward the pros which GGG fans have a habit of doing, I can't consider a fighter an ATG while Ishida is one of his best wins, would you rather have a career where you faced a ton of elite and even some ATG guys or do you want to be undefeated but have to say Ishida is a great win, I think we have very different standards, I'd take Manny's career over GGG even if he goes undefeated but has no ATGs or elite fighters.
You should ask Floyd this. I dont know of anyone who has said GGG is an all time great, I certainly havent. Im just saying it looks like he has the potential to become one. Would I consider him an all time great if he clears up the MW division? Probably not because the div is weak, but if he moved down and fought and beat Canelo or Floyd or moves up and beats Ward or Froch, then yes he will be an all time great.

He is 31 now coming into the peak of his career. For me the next 4 years will show how good he is. I think he will be great and I hope I am right because he comes across as a nice guy.
Floyd without a doubt stopped trying after Oscar and any honest fan will tell he didn't reach the level his talents would have let him.

Honestly if you were trying to make GGG disliked you couldn't have done a better job hype always creates backlash.

Ward draws in Oakland, boxing isn't that popular in the USA if you put a fight in the wrong place you could end up with 2,000 people at a major fight.

If this was stand there and let the other guy GGG would be all time but boxing isn't that.

Honestly I don't care if I'm disliked and I certainly not going to blow a fighter I don't like to be popular on a forum. The GGG hate will grow to the point were he is disliked like Manny.

That's like saying Wladimir Klitschko would obliterate Ward. Ward is a much bigger man than GGG, he fought at 178 in the amateurs while GGG was at 160.

But I have a feeling with a fair referee to prevent Ward from fouling with his deliberate headbutts, despite the size difference GGG would beat Ward.

GGG is the one who keeps putting Ward's name in his mouth, I like that you got a cheating and size excuse ready though it's very impressive.
