Being from the Netherlands and all, where boxing isn't that big of a deal, there are not very many native boxers where we can lift ourselves up to or take as an example. Where proud of Joval, offcourse, and a few other names you might have heard of are Don Diego Poeder, Regilio Tuur () Arnold Vanderleyde (amateur, but won bronze at the olympics) and perhaps Bep 'the dutch windmill' van Klaveren.
After seeing million dollar baby () i've learned of the exitance of Lucia Rijker. I've read her biography and was very impressed with the way she managed to get over all that stood in her way, all the struggles and prejudice in a - let's face it - male dominated sport.
I think she's a strong, powerfull woman, both in character as fysical. Looking at the only video I can find, she impresses me with the simplicity and effectiveness she is boxing. I was wondering what you guys think of her?
